In Matthew 9, we see Jesus moving through villages, teaching, proclaiming, and healing. And when he looked out at the crowds, he didn't see a problem to manage, he saw people who were harassed and helpless. His responded with compassion, and his call was clear: the harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few.

That call is just as urgent today. Harvest Workers and the Bielfeldt Scholarship exist because we believe God is still raising up laborers for his harvest. These programs invest directly in the men and women being equipped to teach, proclaim, and serve, just as Jesus did. They are the answer to the very prayer Jesus instructed his disciples to pray.

As we know, programs like these don't sustain themselves. They require the faithful generosity of people who share that same compassion Jesus had when he looked out at the crowd.

When you give to Harvest Workers or the Bielfeldt Scholarship, you are not just funding a program. You are sending a laborer into the harvest. You are answering a prayer. You are investing in the future of ministry leadership for generations to come.

The harvest is still plentiful.
Will you help send the laborers?

"And Jesus went throughout all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues and proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom and healing every disease and every affliction. When he saw the crowds, he had compassion for them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.”

And he called to him his twelve disciples and gave them authority over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal every disease and every affliction. The names of the twelve apostles are these: first, Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother; James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother; Philip and Bartholomew; Thomas and Matthew the tax collector; James the son of Alphaeus, and Thaddaeus; Simon the Zealot, and Judas Iscariot, who betrayed him. These twelve Jesus sent out, instructing them, “Go nowhere among the Gentiles and enter no town of the Samaritans, but go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. And proclaim as you go, saying, ‘The kingdom of heaven is at hand.’ Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse lepers, cast out demons. You received without paying; give without pay.” -Matthew 9:35-10:8

Lord of the Harvest, the fields are white and ready, but the workers are few. By the power of your Holy Spirit, raise up among us laborers who are equipped with your Word, compelled by your love, and bold to proclaim the good news of Jesus to a world that does not yet know him. Bless those whom you are calling, sustain those whom you have sent, and gather a great harvest of souls for the glory of your name. Through Jesus Christ, your Son, our Lord. Amen.

Thanks to a Caring for Pastors Grant, LCMC Texas District pastors and their families were recently treated to a fun night away from the demands of ministry.

On May 29th, five pastors and six guests gathered at Dell Diamond to cheer on the Round Rock Express, enjoying an evening of baseball, fellowship and fireworks. The Round Rock Express commemorated the 100th anniversary of Round Rock Donuts with a donut themed jersey giveaway, and, of course, donuts.

We are grateful for the opportunity this grant provided and hopes evenings like this one will continue to strengthen the bonds among those serving across the district.

A sincere thank you goes out to all who made this night possible, and to the pastors and families who joined in the fun.

“It was a much needed date night & get away, plus we enjoyed meeting other LCMC pastors & families I had not met or gotten to know… Thank you to Bryce & Lisa for coordinating this fun outing to bless LCMC Pastors and a special thank you to the generous financial donor who enabled this to happen! I know I feel loved & appreciated by our District, & we were blessed to enjoy a fun evening with others!”

You are CALLED. I am CALLED. We all are CALLED. If you call on Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, then Jesus is calling you, too! As Lutheran Christians, it is important to ask, "What does this mean?" The fact that we are CALLED as followers of Jesus Christ has wide-ranging implications for each....

2026 ANNUAL GATHERING KEYNOTE SPEAKER INTRO:

Nathan Hoff is the Senior Pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church in San Pedro, California where he leads a vibrant community of faith and cultivated a culture of leadership development. Nathan was actually born in San Pedro while his dad served there at Ft. MacArthur. He attended high school and college in Seattle, Washington before moving to eastern Iowa, the panhandle of Texas, southern Minnesota, and Minneapolis-St. Paul where he graduated from Luther Seminary in 2002. Since seminary, Nathan spent time in Portland, Oregon, Stavanger, Norway, and Orange County, California before God brought him back home to San Pedro to serve Trinity Lutheran Church where he has remained since 2005. He is married to his wife, Joy. Together they have four adult children: Christian (married to Molly), Annika, Samuel, and Peter.

In his keynote address, “Everyday Call” Nathan will dive into and explore Romans 6. Nordis Christenson said, "The Christian life would be easy, if it wasn't so daily." The Small Catechism activates Romans 6 as the daily call of Jesus to every baptized person: "drowned through daily repentance, that day after day a new self should arise." A lifetime of following Jesus' call consists of everyday hearing, everyday dying, and everyday rising. Luther's “Letter to his Barber on Prayer” and examples from his church community will help make this session concrete and applicable by inviting the listener to a way of: Everyday hearing the call, and everyday responding to the call with repentance and belief.

We hope you will join us in New Braunfels July 24-25th to hear everything Nathan and our other keynotes have to share with us!

Early bird registration ends June 30th! Register here: https://www.lcmctexas.org/annual-gathering/
