Friends of the Homosassa Library

Friends of the Homosassa Library A non-profit organization to enhance the materials and services of the Homosassa Public Library. Membership applications are available at the Homosassa Library.

The Friends raise and give money to support classes and events at the Homosassa Library, as well as to enhance the Library's collection. The all-volunteer association has (5) membership classes: Individual, Family, Contributing, Sponsor and Benefactor ranging from $10 to $100 as well as a Corporate Sponsorship. The Friends hold two major fundraising events each year in the Spring and Fall to suppo

rt the Homosassa Library. Volunteers are welcome to sort books, set-up for the book sale, and to work during sale hours. Membership dues and donations also help meet fundraising goals. We welcome all new members... You can never have too many Friends!

It's Audiobook Appreciation Month! Feeling overwhelmed - no time to read? Audiobooks are a great way to multi-task - they make doing everything better!

Since so many of us love to multitask while we listen, Libby app users told us about the best things to do while plugged into a good audiobook.

We are so excited to be a part of a new program at the Homosassa Library - Happy Tails! Happy Tails! is a Pet Partners program designed to help school-age children improve their literacy skills. Participants can read to and pet a registered therapy dog.
Today, Sullivan, Spirit and Tallulah met their new reading buddies!

Help your child improve their reading skills by having them read to registered therapy dogs that love to listen! The next Happy Tails! is Wednesday, July 08 from 4:00pm - 6:00pm.

Seating is limited and registration is required. You can register with the online calendar, in person, or by calling the library at (352) 628-5626

Want to learn more about the over 300 bird species here in Citrus County? Thanks to the Citrus County Audubon Society and local generous nature lovers, the Citrus County Library System has five – free – Birding Backpacks available for library card holders to check out and use.

May is National Gardening Month. And the Homosassa Library is there to help you get started.
Tomorrow -Tuesday, May 19 - Stop by at the Library for the monthly Plant Swap from 12:30pm - 1:30pm. And don't forget to pick up some free seeds from the Seed Library.
Next week, Plant Lovers can get ready to shout BINGO at PLANT BINGO! Compete in bingo for the chance to win plants and other gardening goodies. You'll never want to "leaf!"
