Sandy is a very sweet boy, that loves to snuggle and go on walks. He likes people, other dogs as well as cats. He actually loves to play with kittens and is very gentle with them. He loves stuffed animals and cozy blankets. He tucks himself in a blanket to sleep. He can stay alone at home either in a crate or free range. Either way he is well behaved. He is potty trained and walks very well on leash. So far he only knows “sit”, but since he’s pretty smart and likes treats, so some basic training should be a fun bonding activity.

We would love to find a foster or adopter for Holly. She has been with the rescue since 2018. She is a senior now and we are hoping someone needs a companion animal in their life.

She is beyond amazing and is the perfect companion. She loves to cuddle and loves everyone she meets. Holly is described as perfect by her foster. She doesn't need to move but she is so perfect that she deserves to have a home all to herself.

If you've always wanted a dog but can't afford one please consider fostering Holly. The rescue covers all cost. We just want a loving place for Holly to go.

Tatum has been waiting for almost 4 years with Pawfect Match. Her birthday is coming up and we would love nothing more than to give this girl her final transition to her Forever Home, and if we aren't able to give her that, we would like to find her a new Foster Home where she can wait for that forever family.

She will be turning 8 in July and has so much love to give.

Meet sweet Tatum, she came from Lenoir County where she was extremely neglected and abused. When she was found she was suffering from heat stroke. She will need a family with husky experience, time and patience to help her become the dog she deserves to be. She's already had a the added benefit of several weeks of training by Jeff Coltenback who says shes a sweet girl!

Here's what Jeff has to say about her:

Tatum has a good obedience foundation. She is crate trained and appears to be housetrained. She ignores his chickens but she has not been tested with cats. She is dog friendly but prefers male dogs. She has "a joyful energy" that will brighten your day. She is very sweet and affectionate and loves hikes and walks. She LOVES to chew toys and is relatively quiet for a husky (not silent though)! She is good for her ear cleanings and her grooming.

Please consider giving this girl a forever home! She is sure to brighten your day!

Lily's Best Day...

Lily wants to be with her people and doing whatever you do. She also has a TON of energy and will chase a ball around for an hour-- and wear you out just in watching her
TV enthusiast – yes, she really watches with interest. She currently is rewatching Gossip Girl with her foster mama. She really **hates** the manatees screen saver on Apple TV and will try to chase

She loves to chase the Roomba, although she knows 'no' when her foster mama tells her to knock it off. Sometimes she will go and nose Roomba to try to get it to play.

Collector of dog bowls – she gathers them up and bangs them around like trophies
Chases her Kong like it owes her money

She gets a dental bone each night at bedtime and loves it

Training & Temperament:

Loves her people – with proper introductions, she greets kids and adults with a happy tail. But if someone wants to sneak into your house-- they won't get very far with Lily on watch.

She is VERY protective once settled and can snap if she thinks her people are at risk by an unsanctioned dog or person. Given this, Lily would NOT be good at dog parks-- she would be in cop mode the whole time.

Foster mama walks Lily carefully and gives her distance from others on the street so she doesn't feel that her pack is threatened.

Food motivated – she learns fast with snacks as rewards. She will sit for a treat in a split second. She is great at catching popcorn or blueberries

Must be introduced to other dogs properly. While Lily lives with 7 other dogs of all ages and sizes, she will get upset if another dog is in her face. With introductions, she gets along with most dogs BUT would be entirely happy being the only dog and soaking up all the attention.

☑Easy to groom- you can wipe her with a washcloth
☑Crate trained and sleeps through the night like a champ.
☑She has the full run of the house without being destructive
☑Fully potty trained – no accidents here!

Poor Parker came to us as a puppy from Louisiana during the end of the pandemic. Adoptions were low and fosters were even lower. He was taken in by a wonderful puppy foster... he still lives there over 2 years later.

Parker is one of those dogs that you don't understand why he is still here. He has no behavior issues. He is amazing with other dogs. He is a white dog that typically gets picked quickly. We seriously don't understand why he's still here.

So we continue to post him and lose a little hope each day that he will be adopted. Please someone apply for Parker. He is perfect and deserves to live as a loved family member and not a foster dog in an overcrowded foster home.

🐾 Being an Only Pet Doesn't Make a Dog a Bad Dog 🐾

One of the biggest misconceptions in rescue is that if a dog needs to be the only pet, they must be aggressive.

The truth? That's often not the case at all.

Some dogs simply prefer not to share their space.

Some love their people so much that they struggle with sharing attention.

Some never learned proper social skills with other dogs.

Some have had experiences in their past that left them nervous or unsure around other animals.

Some are perfectly friendly on walks, in public, or through a fence—but don't want another dog living in their home full-time.

And honestly? Some dogs are just happier being the center of attention.

Just like people, dogs have different personalities, comfort levels, and boundaries.

A dog needing to be an only pet doesn't erase all the wonderful things about them. It doesn't mean they aren't loving, loyal, playful, smart, affectionate, or deserving of a family.

In fact, many of our "only pet" dogs are incredible companions. They form deep bonds with their people, thrive in the right environment, and make amazing family members.

The goal of rescue isn't to find any home.

It's to find the right home.

For some dogs, that perfect home just happens to have one set of paws.

And that's okay. ❤️🐾
