The Haunted House is the biggest fundraiser of the year for Hollis Elementary School, supporting student enrichment, and is also one of the biggest annual community events in Hollis-Brookline. For the first time since 2019, this year's Hollis Haunted House & Halloween Fun Fair is back, and better than ever! One of the biggest annual community events in Hollis, it takes place this year on Sat. Oct. 22, 2022 at Hollis Upper Elementary School. This the 45th anniversary of the Haunted House (www.HollisHaunt.org), and it's a high-tech extravaganza. The Fun Fair (www.HalloweenFunFair.org) is targeted at younger goblins, and is full of fun and happy Halloween-themed games, activities, and prizes. Save money by pre-ordering tickets for both events at www.HauntFunFairTickets.org. The Haunted House also needs adult and high school VOLUNTEERS - setup, takedown, ushers, actors - please go to www.HollisHauntVolunteers.org. And the Fun Fair needs volunteers to run games, donate cakes, decorate, sell tickets, and more - please go to www.FunFairVolunteers.org. Come join us - it's going to be an amazing year at the Haunted House and Fun Fair!

Alas, the 2020 Hollis Haunted House & Halloween Fun Fair has been cancelled due to covid. But instead, please join the HEPTA Halloween Fun Run, a Virtual 5K run/walk/hike/treadmill fundraiser - in costume! Details at www.HollisFunRun.org. Have a happy and safe October, and we look forward to seeing you at the Haunted House and Fun Fair next year!

Help! This year's PTA Haunted House is in trouble. It takes place on Sat. Oct. 19 at Hollis Upper Elementary. This is our most ambitious year in the 42-year history of the Haunted House, but we do not have enough people at the moment to put us over the top and make this year's event happen. We need USHERS (adults), LOADERS (Fri. Oct. 18), TICKET DESK (adult), JURASSIC PARK SCIENTIST (adult), RON WEASLEY FOR HARRY POTTER SCENE (actor ages 16-25), SEWING, and TAKEDOWN. Also, we need high schoolers and adults for LOADING, SETUP, TAKEDOWN. And we have two more acting slots to fill: Ron Weasley in the new Harry Potter scene (a strong actor ages 16-25) and the Jurassic Park Scientist who greets groups coming into the Haunt (a parent-aged adult man or woman). Super thanks to everyone who helped out or visited our Haunted House & Fun Fair BBQ booth at Hollis Old Home Days Friday and yesterday! The booth had animatronic dinosaurs from the upcoming Jurassic Park scene in this year's Haunted House, plus we had a parade float for the Haunted House & Fun Fair.

We sold some great BBQ food, recruited three dozen more much-needed people to help with the Haunted House this year, raised awareness of the Haunted House & Halloween Fun Fair with the community, and raised $1164 for the HES PTA!

Today, come enjoy some awesome BBQ at our PTA Haunted House & Halloween Fun Fair booth at Hollis Old Home Days! We have two animated dinosaurs from the Jurassic Park scene in this year’s Haunted House, plus award-winning BBQ from our very own Paul Dahlstrom, the Swampmeister in our Haunt! Here is a photo from last night. All proceeds benefit the PTA at HES!

Hello, everyone! The Haunted House is THIS SATURDAY and we are still in CRITICAL NEED of adults and high schoolers to be USHERS, LOADING the U-Haul, SETUP, and TAKEDOWN on Friday and Saturday. If you haven't already, please go right now to www.hollishaunt.org/volunteer-hh.html to sign-up!

This year will be great - all new Harry Potter scene, the Princess Bride, an amazing Mad Scientist scene, the Swamp, a completely redesigned Star Trek scene that you won't believe, and much more. We've been preparing for months, and we just need a few more folks to help us entertain and amaze and raise money for the PTA.
