What’s a ruck, exactly? Simple: you load a weighted pack on your back and cover ground No running required, but don’t mistake that for easy.

The 3-hour is a solid starting point if you’re curious about rucking, enough time to feel the weight and find your rhythm, without it turning into an all-day event. The 6-hour is where it shifts: past the point where the pack stops feeling new and starts testing how well you manage fatigue, pacing, and your own head over a longer stretch.

The clock doesn’t care how far you’ve gone, just how long you keep going.
Loop-based format: no set finish line, just a fixed time on the clock. Complete as many laps as you can before the 6 or 12 hours run out, then whatever lap you’re on when time’s up, that’s your race.

Pigeon Creek Park isn’t just a backdrop; it’s part of the challenge.

Rolling hills, hardwood forest, pine stands, and stretches of flat compact trail, the terrain shifts the whole way through, winding along the Ultra Bird 5K Loop.

Not sure which distance is yours? Here’s the breakdown:

First-time trail runner? The 5K or 10K is your starting line, challenging enough to feel like an accomplishment, without needing an ultra background all in a supportive environment built for exactly this.

Seasoned endurance athlete? At 6 or 12 hours, you already know it’s not a speed game; it’s about what you’ve got left in the final hour.

Looking to push yourself in a new way? The 3-hour, 6-hour, or 12-hour Ruck Challenge is a different kind of hard, a loaded pack changes everything.

Seven distances. One race. Find yours at https://ultrasignup.com/register.aspx?did=135115
