Earlier this week, Congress passed a funding package that included the Accelerating Kidsā Access to Care Act and the Mikaela Naylon Give Kids a Chance Actāimportant advancements for pediatric cancer care and research. The legislation has since been signed by the President and is now law.
The package also includes critical investments in:
ā¢The STAR Act ($30M)
ā¢Childhood Cancer Data Initiative (CCDI) ($50M)
ā¢National Institutes of Health (NIH) ($48.716B)
ā¢National Cancer Institute (NCI) ($7.325B)
ā¢ARPA-H ($1.5B)
In addition, the law directs NIH to re-allow reimbursements for international research partners participating in pediatric cancer clinical trials, strengthening global collaboration and accelerating discovery.
