Happy Halloween! 🐴🎃👻

It was a week full of Halloween spirit and learning in our lessons.

We hope you have a wonderful celebration today!

The leaves are the most perfect shade of red at the farm and it was a beautiful week for lessons. 🍁

We’re especially enjoying working with one of the new horses on the farm, Vista!

Vista is a 23 year old Swedish Warmblood who retired from a career in eventing. We are thrilled he is on loan to us and he is getting acclimated to our programs by starting with some ground lessons!

Trick or treat? The Halloween horse activities continued this morning with grooming (and a little glitter!), leading, pumpkin painting, and of course, horse treat making!

Practicing gross and fine motor skills while enjoying time with our wonderful horse friends and fabulous volunteers? Sounds like a good day to us!

Our horses agree, the treats are far better than the tricks 😉🎃👻

Ooh it’s spooky season! 🎃 We combined a little Halloween fun with some learning and horsemanship today.

Participants learned about the horse’s skeletal system as they painted different bones onto their horses. We talked about the similarities and differences between horse and human anatomy.

Did you know? Horses and humans each have 7 cervical vertebrae! Just different sizes!

After, we practiced leading skills and sequencing by taking our festive horses through an obstacle course.

Goldfish and Vista enjoyed a nice sponge bath and towel off at the end, so they wouldn’t spook their friends with their skeleton costumes 😉

🐴🌿 PRANCING HORSE: THE NEXT CHAPTER
Part 3 of 4 | Investing in Our Farm

A special place deserves special care!

Our beautiful 30-acre farm has been home to countless meaningful moments over the years. We’re committed to keeping it a safe, welcoming, and beautiful place for our participants, volunteers, visitors, and, of course, our horses.

Here’s some of the work happening around the farm!

✅ Renovated our covered arena with new, professionally leveled footing.
✅ Making repairs to paddock fencing and improving our grounds and pasture areas.
✅ Updating aging signage throughout the property.
✅ Built a new greenhouse on the property.
✅ Added new flowers at the farm entrance.
✅ Working to bring new horses to Prancing Horse.

These may not seem like the most exciting improvements, but they are important investments in the safety, comfort, and long-term care of our horses and facilities.

Every improvement helps us create an even better experience for the people and horses who call Prancing Horse home.

💚 We’re proud of this beautiful farm, and we’re working hard to make it even better!

Next up: The true heart of Prancing Horse—our incredible horses!

💙 Sometimes, the greatest progress happens in ways you can't measure.

Hearing how our programs have made a difference in a child's life reminds us why we do what we do. 🐴

We are so grateful for our dedicated volunteers, our wonderful horses, and the families who trust us to be part of their journey.

Every rider has a story. Every success matters. 💙
