We’ve been working with a UK grad student over the last few weeks that is studying nutrient deficiencies and toxicity in free roaming horses. She has been out to a few of our fosters and adopters. Today she came out to the farm to get some samples. Guinness was the perfect patient. Maude…well…she mostly tolerated it.

Adoption update!

Just look at Quinn! She was adopted in March and she’s coming right along.

Her family says she is becoming quite the pocket pony. She is very curious and eager to learn, but also appreciates them taking a slower approach with her as she adjusts from free roaming to domestic life, which they are happy to let her do.

Quinn, we wish you nothing but happy trails and look forward to all the updates of your milestones.

Our Ace has found his very own “Sweet Caroline” 🎶 Good times never seemed so good 🎶

These two are already making a wonderful team! Caroline is helping Ace learn what it means to be a true companion horse, and he is thriving in his new home.

According to Caroline, Ace is a smart, willing boy who is eager to learn and always tries his best. We couldn’t be happier to see him settling in so well and building such a special bond with his adopter.

Congratulations to Ace and Caroline—we can’t wait to follow their journey together! 🐴💕

Meet Scarlet, a beautiful four year old white Sabino. Her visually distinct color pattern is common in Tennessee Walking Horses. She is currently with one of our fosters being prepared for her new home and has learned to halter, lead, tie, and is now being started under saddle. She is sweet, calm and loves children, though she can occasionally be a bit shy or stubborn.

Scarlet has a current Coggins and is up to date on all vaccinations. While she is currently a little underweight due to a high parasite load, she has been dewormed and should start gaining weight now.

Please let us know if you are interested in learning more about Scarlet or maybe even adopting her.

We know a lot of our posts focus lately has been on the new facility, but we have not stopped working out where the horses live beyond our farm. Yesterday we had volunteers in two different counties. Dropping salt blocks and checking on herds. All of these horses are still a priority to us, and we will continue to do all that we can for both the ones in our care, as well as the ones that continue to roam the mountains.
