Huge congratulations are in order for one of Hillsborough’s finest! 🍎📚
We are incredibly proud to announce that Louis DiGirolamo, a history teacher right here at Hillsborough High School, has been honored with the 2025-2026 Smart/Maher VFW National Citizenship Education Teacher Award (Grades 9-12)!
This prestigious recognition, presented by the Hillsborough Memorial VFW Post 8371 and VFW District #15/Somerset County, celebrates educators who go above and beyond in fostering patriotism and a deep understanding of American history.
What makes this even more special? Louis is a product of the very district he now serves! In a wonderful "full circle" moment, our current Superintendent was actually Louis's Principal back when he was in elementary school. Talk about deep roots in the Boro!
