Our 4th Annual ATV Poker Run Fundraiser was a great success! Thank you to the many people from all over who came to ride and play their poker hands. This event brought in more than $2,000 in registrations, donations, and sponsorships!

The winner of the prize for best hand was Denise Roberts. Worst hand went to Julianne LaBier. We also handed out some fun gift cards for most patriotic decorated rigs.

We want to thank our volunteers for taking time to assist us with this event. Thanks to Martha Halverson, Elizabeth LaBier, and Jeremiah Holling for their talented photography. Thanks to the Contoocook Valley ATV Riders ATV club for allowing us to use their trails. Also thanks to the Hillsboro Fire / EMS group and Eat It Loud Cakerie for their wonderful food. And thank you to our generous event donors and sponsors Livingston Sales, High Tide Takeout, The Nook Diner, Hillsboro Ford, Morse Sporting Goods, Tooky Mills Pub. We couldn't do this without your support!

Would You Please Write a Letter of Support For Us?

We are preparing to apply for Congressionally Directed Spending through Senator Shaheen's office. These federal grants help support community projects that benefit New Hampshire in areas of national defense, small business, transportation, food assistance, and more.

Our application must include letters of support from within the community. This is your chance to explain in a compelling way why you think a regional community center is needed in our area, and what it would mean to you.

Some examples:

Personal impact, such as:
- health and fitness, including our planned pool, exercise classes, and fitness center
- general wellness, including healthy eating programs and wellness workshops
- cultural opportunities, such as our theatrical events and art workshops
- educational opportunities, such as classes that will be offered, and our community garden
- childcare, which is much needed in our area
- senior citizen services, including regular meals and social activities
- family supports
- a muster point in times of disaster

Economic impact, such as:
- the creation of jobs
- how the Center will help local area nonprofits extend their current programs
- how the Center will help small businesses with meeting space, maker space, professional development courses
- how the Center will encourage growth and expansion in the area

Your one-page letter must be signed and include your contact information. Please email your letter to us at [email protected] or mail it to us at PO Box 202, Hillsborough, NH 03244 to reach us no later than February 15th for inclusion. We appreciate your help!

A Place for Everyone.

The Hillsborough Community Center project is in its planning phase. We are looking for residents from Hillsborough and nearby towns to join the project and volunteer. We will be forming several committees who will see this project come to fruition.

The Center will operate following these core values: integrity, unity, and inclusiveness. The vision of the Center is to help provide opportunities for residents to improve their health, education, and well-being. The Center will offer multi-generational programs to address the needs of our community. The Center will also fill a need for much-needed event space. The Hillsborough Community Center will create a culture of unity grounded in providing a gathering place for all ages and abilities to engage in socialization, exercise, and education. The focus will be on improving the quality of life and promoting healthy lifestyles for residents.
