๐ŸŒฟ Join us at the beautiful on July 11โ€“12 for a weekend of Mountain Medicine Making!

Set within a 500-acre natural sanctuary, this hands-on gathering is an opportunity to learn how to craft herbal remedies from the land while building your home apothecary. Throughout the weekend, you'll make and take home your own teas, tinctures, and salves, connect with fellow plant enthusiasts, and deepen your relationship with Appalachian herbal traditions.

Come learn, create, and build community in a dreamy mountain setting.

Spend an evening in conversation about traditional and modern
practices of working with plants for healing and wellness from
Indigenous and Afrolachian traditions presented by Rene and Ruby.

Rene Reynolds is a Licensed Massage and Bodywork Therapist with over 33 years of experience in holistic health and medical-based bodywork. She serves as an Adjunct Professor at ForsythTechnical Community College where she teaches Chinese medicine theory and its practical application. Reneโ€™s approach to healing is deeply informed by her cultural heritage, drawing from the traditions of the Overhill Band of Georgia Cherokee, the Meherrin people of Virginia, and the Gullah Geechee people of the Outer Banks of North Carolina. She integrates this lineage into her work, offering a holistic and culturally rooted perspective on wellness.

Ruby Daniels is a repeat presenter at the Yew Mountain Center because she is a gifted educator, storyteller, and has an abundance of knowledge and life experience that she shares generously. Ruby is an herbalist and owner of Creasy Jane's, a sustainably-sourced herbal products business. She lives on her family homeplace of a former African American coal mining town. She has a Masters of Science in Therapeutic Herbalism. Ruby is also a forest farmer and soil conservations with the USDA.

An optional taco bar will follow.

We are beyond lucky to have Richard Hefner join us with his legendary banjo picking at our festival. He is worth the price of admission alone. (It's actually a free event, but Richard is priceless!)
