June is Men’s Health Month

Strong Men. Strong Families. Strong Communities.

This June, let's do more than raise awareness—let's take action.

Men and boys often put everyone else's needs before their own, but your health matters too. Whether you're a middle school student, high school athlete, college student, father, mentor, or grandfather, taking care of your physical, mental, and emotional health is one of the most important investments you can make.

🔹 For Male Youth (Ages 11–18)

Start building healthy habits now:

✅ Get at least 60 minutes of physical activity daily
✅ Schedule annual wellness checkups
✅ Talk openly about stress, anxiety, and emotions
✅ Get 8–10 hours of sleep each night
✅ Limit sugary drinks and processed foods

🎓 The Truth About College Prep in America

One of the biggest myths about getting ready for college is believing there's one standard path for every student.

The reality? There isn't.

Every state is different.
Every school district is different.
Every high school is different.
And sometimes, two schools just a few miles apart can offer completely different opportunities.

One student may have access to:
✅ 30+ AP courses
✅ Dual Enrollment
✅ College counselors
✅ SAT/ACT preparation
✅ Research opportunities
✅ Internships
✅ Early College programs

While another student may have:
⚠️ Limited advanced coursework
⚠️ Overworked counselors
⚠️ Fewer college visits
⚠️ Limited scholarship resources
⚠️ Less exposure to competitive admissions

That's why college preparation is often local—not national.

📚 Public Schools
Public schools can offer outstanding opportunities, including AP, IB, Dual Enrollment, Career & Technical Education, and specialized magnet programs. In many communities, top public schools rival elite private schools in college admissions and scholarship success.

🏫 Private Schools
Private schools often provide smaller class sizes, dedicated college counseling, strong alumni networks, and extensive extracurricular opportunities. However, higher tuition doesn't automatically guarantee better outcomes.

So what really matters?

The strongest college-prep environments typically provide:
