As we begin a new school year, I want to challenge every Petersburg Kappa Leaguer to enter this year with purpose, discipline, confidence, and a commitment to excellence.

A new school year means new classes, new teachers, new opportunities, new challenges—and another chance to become better than we were yesterday.

As President of the Petersburg Kappa League, I am proud to serve alongside our 2026–2027 officers:

Ensure No Graduate is Left Behind: The Kappa League to Kappa College Handoff

As our Kappa Leaguers graduate and head off to college, our mentorship doesn't end—it evolves. This is a call to action for all Kappa League Directors and mentors to facilitate the "Kappa Kollege" transition.

In this video, we outline the simple yet critical steps to ensure our young kings are introduced to the undergraduate brothers and alumni directors at their new campuses. This transition is the most important year of their lives; let's make sure they have the "family" support they need to succeed.

Make one more phone call before your Kappa League graduate goes off to college. Please call the Kappa League director at the alumni chapter overseeing that college and have them introduced to the undergraduates. They aren't brothers yet but they are definitely members of the family. Let's introduce them that way. One phone call could make a major difference in his college career!

A NEW JOURNEY BEGINS — CONGRATULATIONS, DEXTER “MYLES” RICHARDSON! 💙🤍

The Petersburg Kappa League is proud to celebrate former Kappa Leaguer Dexter “Myles” Richardson as he begins his freshman year at Hampton University and takes on an additional challenge as a member of Navy ROTC.

This is more than the first day of college.

It is the beginning of a journey built around education, leadership, discipline, responsibility, and service.

Myles, as you walk the grounds of Hampton University and begin your Navy ROTC experience, remember that every early morning, difficult assignment, demanding training session, and new challenge is preparing you for something greater.

You are entering an environment that will challenge you academically while developing the character and leadership necessary to serve others.

That's something worth celebrating.

The Virginia Black History Month Association is proud to announce The 27th Annual Virginia Black History Month Gala taking place on Saturday, February 27, 2027, at the beautiful Renaissance Arlington Capital View Hotel in Arlington, Virginia.

For more than 26 years, this signature celebration has brought together families, community leaders, educators, students, business professionals, and supporters from across the DMV and beyond for an unforgettable evening honoring Black history, achievement, culture, and excellence.

🦃🧡 FROM PETERSBURG KAPPA LEAGUE TO VIRGINIA TECH — CONGRATULATIONS, CAMERON WHITNEY! 🧡🦃

Another chapter begins!

The Petersburg Kappa League is extremely proud to celebrate Cameron Whitney as he begins his college journey at Virginia Tech.

For seven years, Cameron has been part of the Petersburg Kappa League family, growing from a young Kappa Leaguer into an accomplished student, athlete, and leader. Along the way, he served as both Vice President and Secretary, earned our Academic Achievement Award twice, and was recognized with the Student Athlete Award and Emergent Leader Award.

And he accomplished all of that while earning an incredible 4.6 GPA, participating in the National Honor Society, and being involved with NSBE Jr.

Cameron, you've already demonstrated that you have the ability to compete at a high level. Now the challenge is to take everything you've learned—discipline, leadership, resilience, time management, brotherhood, and service—and carry it with you to Blacksburg.

As you begin this journey:

📚 Protect your GPA.
🤝 Build relationships with professors and mentors.
💼 Pursue internships and professional opportunities early.
🌎 Step outside your comfort zone.

❤️ SERVICE IN ACTION — KAPPA LEAGUER KALEB BENNETT ❤️

Leadership isn't always about standing in front of a room.

Sometimes, leadership looks like rolling up your sleeves and serving someone who may never know your name.

Today, we're proud to recognize Petersburg Kappa Leaguer Kaleb Bennett for volunteering at the Hopewell Food Pantry and giving his time to help families and individuals in our community.

This is what Guide Right is about.

We want our young men to excel academically, pursue college and careers, develop confidence, and become strong leaders—but we also want them to understand something equally important:

Success means more when you use it to serve others.

Every box packed, every bag distributed, every shelf stocked, and every person helped represents a reminder that even one person can make a difference.
