✨ Guided by renowned historian Phyllis Bridges, a native of High Point and founder of Yalik’s African American Art and Cultural Movement, this tour will uncover the lives of the men, women, and families who helped build our community.

A ground penetrating radar study revealed that 455 African Americans are buried in the Colored Section of Oakwood Cemetery, many in unmarked graves. Their stories, contributions, and legacy are woven into the history of High Point and deserve to be remembered.
