The world has gone through many changes in the last couple of months and through these changes we’ve been able to look at mostly the positive: at least we’re safe, at least we’re indoors, at least we’re doing the right thing. However, some people can’t say these words and mean them because they know: they were not safe, even though they were doing the right thing. The beautiful recreations of the faces pictured above were three of these people. Three people that trusted their neighbors, law makers, friends, the world, and we let these people down. Let these names and faces hold a special place in your heart, let it ignite a fire for justice within you, let it make you fight for what is right. Start the hard conversations, join the protests, and speak out. In a world where we are all created equal, it’s certainly time that we be treated as such.

HPU SNPhA just wanted to say a quick thank you to all of the members from the 2019-2020 school year. Whether it was from the EC members planning wonderful events and working hard, to the active members that came out and participated, making an impact in the community! We want to say ⭐️THANK YOU⭐️ from the bottom of our hearts, without you all, none of this would be possible. We want to extended our gratitude even further to Rising P4, Rebekah Placide, as she has devoted her student pharmacy career to implementing a SNPhA chapter at HPU. 💜 This was a wonderful year full of firsts, new traditions, and many memories. Don’t worry HPUSNPhA 2019-2020, your L.E.G.A.C.Y. lives on.

Join HPU’s Student National Pharmaceutical Association in observing Women and Girls HIV/AIDS Awareness Day. According to the CDC, in 2017, more than 7,000 women received an HIV diagnosis in the United States. Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) causes HIV infection and is spread through contact with blood, semen, pre-seminal fluid, re**al fluids, vaginal fluids, or breast milk of an infected individual. It can also be spread through sharing injectables needles with a person who has HIV. Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome (AIDS) is the most advanced stage of HIV infection. Antiretroviral therapy (ART) is recommended for everyone with HIV, used to treat HIV infection, and used to prevent the progression to AIDS. ART helps to reduce transmission and allows individuals with HIV to live longer, healthier lives. ART does NOT cure HIV infection. If you are HIV-negative with a high risk of contracting HIV, pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) can be taken daily to reduce your risk of getting HIV. For more information about HIV/AIDS or PrEP, visit http://www.cdc.gov/hiv
