Saturday 10/10 was Middleville’s fall fest. Today seemed to be very successful!
We had 191 visitors; passed out 4 membership envelopes, several maps and stickers and 71 Jr Ranger books! Every family that received books for their kids were given instructions on how to get the badge.

We had a very pleasant "Breakfast Meet-up" on 10/13 with 10 folks showing up for a great breakfast in Battle Creek, and a hike in Kimball Pines.
The write-up might be something like:
The Chief Noonday Chapter had another successful Breakfast Meet-up on Oct. 13 with good eating at R&R Grill followed by a beautiful Fall hike at Battle Creek's Kimball Pines Park. We had 10 for breakfast and one more joined for the hike. Four were new to these casual gatherings that combine socializing with hiking.
Next Breakfast Meet-up will be Thursday November 12th - 9 AM at Augusta's Dig-In Cafe. Current plans are some trail work - putting down hardware cloth on the boardwalk in Augusta Prairie to prevent slipping. Contact Eric Longman [email protected] for more information.

The Hastings Reminder published a wonderful article on Jenny and Buck Hough 's Bin Walkin.

Five hikers from MiCHILigan joined Joyce and Rhys for an approximately 2 mile hike on October 3 that traversed the NCT, an equestrian trail and a mountain bike trail that led from Norris Road to their camp setup at Deep Lake Rustic Campground in Yankee Springs. The hikers were from Maine, Indiana, Tennessee and Michigan. Canines George and Sophie hiked as well. It was a beautiful morning to highlight our local trails. Many thanks to Rhys for his pre-hike and great navigation to keep us on track. 🥾🥾

🏹 To help reduce the risk of hunting accidents, always wear blaze orange when using trails on public or private land, especially during archery and fi***rm deer seasons.

While hunters are typically very vigilant, wearing this highly visible color is the best way to ensure they see you. Outfit your pet with a blaze orange bandana, leash or harness as well.

Archery season takes place Oct. 1-Nov. 14 and Dec. 1 -Jan. 1, and regular fi***rm deer season takes place Nov. 15-30.
