Our club will be participating in the GFWC Day of Service tomorrow! It’s amazing how much of a difference we can make TOGETHER! Stop by our table at the Fall Fest at Schaffner Park in Hummelstown from 11-3. We will be collecting donations for domestic violence victims. Check out our event page for a list of donations we are accepting. Thank you for your support of our club and our community service projects!

Tomorrow GFWC members across the country will come together for the 2026 Day of Service.

Thank you to every club, member, and community partner participating in this important effort to raise awareness of and help end domestic violence and sexual assault.

Let's make an impact together.

Please join us on September 26, 2026, as we participate in the GFWC International Day of Service! Special thanks to the Hershey Federal Credit Union, which has allowed us to set up our Day of Service collection at their Fall Fest event at Schaffner Park in Hummelstown. We will be there from 11:00 to 3:00.

Our theme again this year is to "End Domestic and Sexual Violence". We will collect items needed for the YWCA Greater Harrisburg, for their efforts to assist victims of domestic violence, sexual violence, and human trafficking. Last year our wonderful and supportive community members were so generous with their donations! We were able to donate items valued at over $4000 to the YWCA Greater Harrisburg. But these victims still need our help! Let's make this year even better!

Please join us on September 26, 2026, and donate a needed item to this worthy cause. We will be collecting new twin bedding, new bed pillows, new towels and washcloths, full size body wash, shampoo, conditioner, laundry detergent, dish soap, new bras and new women's underwear.

We sincerely thank our community for your support of our club and projects!

One of our club’s amazing projects from the past. Did you know that the General Federation of Women’s Clubs has been in existence since 1890? If you would like to be a part of a group with a long, storied, and important history? We would love to have you as a club member. Message our page for more information!

In 1976, as a Bicentennial Project, the Federated Women's Club of Hershey compiled research on the “Heritage Trail,” creating a treasured record of homes, farms, and churches dating back over three hundred years. This remarkable survey captured key landmarks across the area, including the site of Old Derry Church—the region’s first church, established in 1724—and the 1844 Derry Church School on Mansion Road, where a young Milton S. Hershey was educated. The trail also highlighted the 1810 Felix Landis home on Park and Trinidad Avenues, which originally operated as a mill, as well as the Milton Hershey Homestead on Governor Road, built on land featuring a structure from 1826 where the famous chocolatier was born. One of the oldest historic sites listed is St. Paul Lutheran Church on Sand Hill Road, founded in 1752 as one of the oldest Lutheran congregations in the region. Projects like the Heritage Trail exemplify the mission of the Hershey History Center: preserving these foundational stories and safeguarding the legacy of our community for generations to come.

We were grateful to have Ms. Barbara Barksdale, “the cemetery lady”, speak to our club for our February program. It was fascinating to learn about the history of the Midland Cemetery and her work to preserve the memories and contributions of the African Americans buried there.

For decades, Barbara Barksdale has tended to the needs of the historic Midland Cemetery in Dauphin County, a final resting place for thousands of African Americans, dating as far back as 1795.

“They call me the cemetery lady,” she says with just a hint of pride.
