Join us on Friday at Celebrate Dolly Day: Dolly Parton's Imagination Library fundraiser. Our guest bartenders are:
Kurt Rose from Rotary Club of Herndon-Reston
Mayor Keven
Laura Poindexter from Friday Night Live! - Herndon Rocks
& Dan Hoffman Town of Herndon Government

At tomorrow’s Town Council meeting I will proclaim 9-2-5 Dolly Parton day in herndon (join us at about 6:45 if you want to be in the picture). Dolly has done so much good in our nation and our local Rotary Club of Herndon-Reston supports the local Inagination Livrary putting free books into the hands of any young child signed up in our community. The Herndon Woman's Club with support from Friday Night Live! are celebrating this proclamation by raising money to support the local Imagination Library this 9/25 at Jimmy's Old Town Tavern. I will guest bartend and I’m going to donate a book vending machine to one of our Herndon schools. Will you join me and donate what you can to commemorate this beautiful life and support our youth?!?

Friday Night Live! celebrated its 500th show on Sept 4 with a $500 donation to Herndon's Dolly Parton's Imagination Library, honoring Richard Downer for bringing the program to our community.

The program mails free books monthly to local kids from birth through age five, reaching over 1,650 children every month and topping 200,000 total books delivered so far.

To keep that momentum going, Friday Night Live! and the Herndon Woman's Club lauched a fundraising drive alongside the Rotary Club of Herndon-Reston. Just $2.60 sponsors a book for a child for a full month.

Join us for Dolly Day on Friday, September 25, from 5:00 - 9:00pm at Jimmy's Old Town Tavern in Downtown Herndon. We are celebrating with guest bartenders, raffles, Dolly's signature cocktail, a full Dolly Parton playlist, and easy ways to donate on-site.

Check the comments for the Facebook event to RSVP and invite your friends along with the direct donation link that supports the program in Herndon!

On June 9th, members of our Health and Wellness CSP delivered feminine hygiene and incontinence products, toothpaste, washcloths, shampoo and conditioner to the Embry Rucker Shelter in Reston. These products were purchased by the club, along with generous donations from individual members.

Have you seen the progress on our latest mural?

While your out and about on this beautiful weekend, perhaps at Friday Night Live! - Herndon Rocks, check it out behind The Breeze Restaurant and Sports Bar. You might even see our artist, Patricia Eprem putting on the finishing touches.

What do you think?
