Either your membership is passed due and has been deactivated or the code that you have been entering is incorrect. I've gotten several alerts from our security company this evening of the door being attempted to be opened without a proper code.

Good morning everyone. Soccer teams are in the process of being separated into teams by the coaches. If you have not heard from a coach by Friday evening via text, phone call, or email please get in touch with me (785-258-3577 or [email protected]).

With this new Google form registration I understand we may have some things to fine tune. I want to make sure everyone who wants or intended to play is getting that opportunity before we order shirts. Thank you for signing your kiddos up.

Also, for future planning, game schedules have not been created yet but games will likely start the week of April 6th. K-1 will play all games in Herington and games will be at 5:45 or 6:30 on Monday and Thursday evenings. 2nd-3rd grade teams will play at either Herington or Council Grove on Monday and Tuesday evenings at 5:45 or 6:30. 4th-5th grade teams will also play in Herington or Council Grove but on Tuesday and Thursday evenings at either 5:45 or 6:30.

Its that time of year again! Summer Employment Opportunity

Applications for our seasonal jobs are now available outside my office door or can be download from the City Website. Pay starts at minimum wage and goes up based on your experience and skill level. The bulk of the work is in the month of June and the beginning of July. Applicants must be self motivating and at least 16 yrs old to apply. Lawn care maintenance experience is preferred, but we can teach you if you are willing to learn! We hire for both full time and part time help.

Part time employees help supervise the fields on game nights and help on bigger projects when need.

Full time applicants work on field prep and lawn maintenance at the fields. Along with other projects at the ballfields.

Applications are due back to me by May 1st. If you are interested in a career in youth sports or sports management this is a great introductory job that looks good on a resume. Soccer registration is now open! If you plan to sign up for any summer ball activities, you may register for that now as well and save a little money by bundling the two sports. Deadline for soccer and the discount is March 13th. If there is any confusion and you have questions please contact the Rec office at 785-258-3577. Payments can be dropped off at the school or rec office. A PayPal option is also available. Thank you.

Save $10 by signing up for both Soccer and your summer sport by the Soccer Deadline on March 13th , 2026 to take advantage of discount. Summer Ball Registration Deadline is April 28th, 2026

Softball field project has working field lights and scoreboard. Thank you to the City electrical crew for getting everything going! All of the original project is now completed. Just in time for the High School season to get going in a few weeks!

Big thank you to the boys over at Evergy for taking the time out of their Friday to donate their time and effort to put up our lights on the new softball field. Also a greatful thank you Kyle Heineken and Heineken Electic for donating the fixtures for our project. Awesome job done my CMF and Ben Meyer on the building of the cross arms. Seems like a long time since we started the project but excited to see things getting finished up.

We are doing Flag Football Sign-Ups )and all our recreation sports sign ups) a little different from now on.
PHYSICAL FORMS WILL NOT BE SENT HOME ANYMORE!
All registration will be done via a Google Form. You will also have the ability to pay through PayPal. Cash and Checks will still be accepted of course and those can be submitted to the school office or the recreation office drop box by the deadline date. All registration forms however must be done using this Google Form linked below. I will have the Link emailed to all the parents through the school as well for those that do not have Facebook.
