Today’s Little Hands, Big Hearts Award goes to this incredible big brother, a living reminder that generosity is taught, modeled, and passed down.

The audience was asked to name a famous jazz artist from the Newport News area, and he was the only one who proudly guessed Ella Fitzgerald, earning the opportunity to pick any bike he wanted.

But instead of choosing for himself, he slowly looked at every bike… and then said he didn’t want one, he wanted one for his little sister.

This is what happens when children are raised around love, community, and adults who show them what giving looks like.
Unselfish hearts don’t just appear — they are shaped by the examples they see.

Today, this young man reminded all of us that generosity has no age limit, and that the next generation is always watching, learning, and becoming.

May God bless his beautiful, giving spirit.Our community is brighter because of children and families like this. 💛
