BSR is excited to be hosting a clinic with National Examiner Debra Sue Waters! This clinic will be open to the public with priority given to USPC members. Please check out the flier for additional info! Registration will be left open for 2 more days as we still have a few spots left.

About Debra Sue Waters-
Debra Sue is British Horse Society Certified Instructor, as well as a United States Pony Clubs National Examiner teaching and testing dressage, jumping, and eventing through the ‘H-A’ and ‘A’ levels. She has been involved with horses in some way since early childhood as a student, competitor, instructor, and trainer.

With over 40 years of teaching and training experience, Debra Sue believes in a classical approach to flat work and a progressive gymnastic program to work over fences. By emphasizing correct rider position and biomechanics of both horse and rider, she works to develop a correct foundation, building confidence and skills in riders from multiple disciplines

A few snapshots from our 2026 Annual Quiz and "Everything but the Horse" Rally. This year members got to compete in Tetrathalon (a four phase event that includes running, swimming, jumping, and shooting!) Congrats to all our members who did so amazing! Many members also qualified to represent Big Sky Region at the USPC National Championship in Kentucky this summer.

Have you ever wanted to experience Pony Club? We are offering a unique and rare opportunity to participate in our regional camp! Camp includes three full days of fantastic instruction- 2 group riding lessons and 2 group unmounted lessons per day.
Location: BSHP- Missoula
Dates: 7/31-8/3
Includes: 2 mounted and 2 unmounted lessons per day. Stabling and meals included.
Cost: $425

Adults welcome!

Camp is fairly intense and not suitable for young children. Participants should be mature enough for 2 mounted and 2 unmounted lessons per day. They should be able to follow oral directions and take feedback (some of it critical), and exhibit the time management skills needed to attend four lessons per day. Participants must bring their own horses.

Regional camp has concluded! A huge thank you to Juniper Hill Stable for hosting us, and to our AMAZING instructors Brenna Harken, Kathryn Nichwander Equestrian, and Richard Lamb. Our members received instruction on the flat, over fences, on cross country and over trail obstacles. We covered a wide array of horse management topics including bandaging, lameness evaluation, saddle fitting, conditioning, tack cleaning, roping, conformation, arena geometry and ring figures. There was much growth seen in al our members throughout the week! We also had several people complete certifications ranging from D3 to C2. We were so impressed with our group of horsemasters as well who continued to impress with their dedication both in and out of the saddle. Can't wait for next year!

Members check your emails! Registration for Camp 2024 has arrived!

Big Sky Region is proud to welcome the one and only Richard Lamb with Brenna Harken Dressage and Kathryn Nichwander Equestrian as our mounted instructors this year! One of the many great things about pony club is the access it gives our members to fantastic instructors they may not otherwise have the opportunity to ride with. We are looking forward to a great week of all things horses!

We had our annual Quiz and Everything but the Horse rallies a few weeks ago. All our members did awesome!

Quiz Rally is like a horse themed knowledge bowl- members compete both individually and on a team while testing their horse knowledge! We even had an all adult Horsemasters team compete! Thank you to Leslie Nalls for organizing!

Everything but the Horse Rally gives members the opportunity to experience what it would be like to compete in a rally with their horse. We had turnout inspections, jog outs, reviewed required equipment, how to ride a dressage test and correctly perform a show jumping course! Thank you to Karen Jones Skoric and Becca Skoric-Barringer for organizing!

A BIG thank you to all of the parents and volunteers who helped make this such a fun and education weekend for the kids! We could not have done it without you!
