Season 72 OPENING NIGHT is happening on Saturday September 12th!

Experience a performance like no other, featuring iconic American masterpieces by COPLAND and BARBER in celebration of America 250. Attendees will also experience the WORLD PREMIERE of Ovidiu Marinescu's "Our America," written for the Helena Symphony!

Thinking back on the excitement of watching the Blue Angels last weekend at the Yellowstone International Air Show!!

We had a great time with students from across the state who have excelled in different history and civics competitions!

✅ Ellie from Belt, who was a first place winner in America250’s America’s Field Trip contest for a poem she wrote

✅ Ian from Butte, who represented Montana in the Freedom 250/U.S. Department of Education Presidential 1776 Award semifinals competition

✅ Samuel from Manhattan, who also represented Montana in the Presidential 1776 Award semifinals

✅ Ryker from Missoula, state champion in the 2026 National Civics Bee, representing Montana at the finals

✅ Madi from Billings, another Presidential 1776 Award semifinalist

✅ Wyatt from Belt, our fourth and final Presidential 1776 Award semifinalist from Montana!

Montana 250 commissioners enjoyed spending time with them and their families and hearing about their journeys. We are also grateful to Senator Tim Sheehy for spending time with the students on Saturday after parachuting in with the Montana flag!!

We are so proud of these students, and the many others across our state who have been excelling at civics and history education for our 250th! Keep making Montana proud!!

That’s a wrap on the Yellowstone International Air Show! We had a great time meeting everyone - and of course enjoyed the Blue Angels!

Another highlight was the Freedom 250 Freedom Truck! Attendees had the opportunity to walk through America’s beginnings in a mobile museum, including touchscreens and interactive exhibits. We’re glad they were able to be a part of the show!

We are having a great time handing out pins and magnets to attendees at the Yellowstone International Air Show! It’s been fun to see so many civic minded families celebrating our nation and answering questions from the U.S. Citizenship Test! And we’ve handed out a TON of Declarations from Montana Secretary of State Christi Jacobsen!!
