Schuylkill County court officials are warning residents to be on alert for a recently reported phone scam in which callers claim victims failed to report for jury duty and demand payment of a fine.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by my Shamokin district office to meet with representatives from the Pennsylvania Treasury and search for unclaimed property.

During the event, Treasury staff connected residents with $102,751.65 in unclaimed property.

More than 1 in 10 Pennsylvanians has unclaimed property waiting to be claimed. These assets may include dormant bank accounts, uncashed checks, insurance payments, utility deposits, rebates and other funds.

If you haven't searched your name yet, I encourage you to do so. You may be surprised to learn you have money or other property waiting to be claimed!
