In February, a federal jury in Green Bay recently convicted a man involved in a major fentanyl trafficking operation connected to Wisconsin communities. According to the U.S. Department of Justice, investigators linked the operation to more than 175,000 fentanyl pills seized during the investigation. Evidence showed pills were being transported throughout the Midwest and distributed in the Green Bay area. Officials also stated that many fentanyl pills tested nationwide contain potentially lethal doses.
Stories like this are a reminder that the fentanyl crisis is not distant or disconnected from us. It is happening right here in Wisconsin, impacting families, neighborhoods, schools, and communities across our state.
Forever Joy continues to advocate for education, prevention, awareness, and open conversations surrounding fentanyl and substance abuse. Raising awareness matters because one conversation, one shared resource, or one informed decision truly can save a life.
Thank you to the investigators, officers, K-9 units, task forces, and community organizations working every day to keep dangerous drugs off Wisconsin streets and protect our communities. đź’ś
