In February, a federal jury in Green Bay recently convicted a man involved in a major fentanyl trafficking operation connected to Wisconsin communities. According to the U.S. Department of Justice, investigators linked the operation to more than 175,000 fentanyl pills seized during the investigation. Evidence showed pills were being transported throughout the Midwest and distributed in the Green Bay area. Officials also stated that many fentanyl pills tested nationwide contain potentially lethal doses.

Stories like this are a reminder that the fentanyl crisis is not distant or disconnected from us. It is happening right here in Wisconsin, impacting families, neighborhoods, schools, and communities across our state.

Forever Joy continues to advocate for education, prevention, awareness, and open conversations surrounding fentanyl and substance abuse. Raising awareness matters because one conversation, one shared resource, or one informed decision truly can save a life.

Thank you to the investigators, officers, K-9 units, task forces, and community organizations working every day to keep dangerous drugs off Wisconsin streets and protect our communities. đź’ś

A major drug trafficking investigation in Wausau recently led to the seizure of fentanyl, methamphetamine, co***ne, and other narcotics right here in Wisconsin — including enough fentanyl to account for hundreds of potentially deadly doses.

This is why awareness matters. This is why conversations matter. And this is why organizations, families, law enforcement, schools, and communities continuing to speak up about substance abuse and fentanyl awareness is so important.

The reality is this isn’t “somewhere else.” It’s happening close to home, in our own communities, affecting real families every single day. Forever Joy will continue working to raise awareness, educate others, and advocate for safer communities across Wisconsin. 💜

Thank you to the officers, K-9 units, investigators, and everyone involved in helping keep dangerous drugs off our streets.

43.2 pounds of fentanyl disguised as prescription pills. $5.8 million in street value.

And according to investigators, it was headed for Northeast Wisconsin. Authorities say this is believed to be the largest fentanyl pill seizure in Wisconsin history. (WLUK)

Stories like this are a reminder that this crisis is not happening “somewhere else.” It is happening here. In our state. In our communities.

At Forever Joy, we will continue pushing for awareness, education, prevention, and honest conversations surrounding fentanyl and substance abuse because the reality is this epidemic continues to impact families every single day.

For those who may be new to our page, this is the story behind Forever Joy.

In August of 2019, Cassidy Joy Metropulos passed away at just 21 years old due to fentanyl poisoning. She was a daughter, sister, friend, athlete, animal lover, and someone with a future full of life ahead of her.

What happened to Cassidy changed so many lives forever, but it also became the driving force behind Forever Joy’s mission to bring awareness, education, prevention, and honest conversations surrounding fentanyl and substance abuse into our communities.

This organization exists because families should not have to learn these lessons through tragedy.

Right near one of the most recognizable stadiums in America, authorities recently uncovered a major drug stash operation tied to fentanyl and narcotics trafficking in the Bronx!

Not hidden in some far-off place. Not disconnected from everyday life. Right near homes, businesses, families, and one of the busiest public areas in New York: Yankee Stadium!

Stories like this are a sobering reminder that substance abuse and trafficking don’t exist “somewhere else.” They happen in communities, neighborhoods, and public spaces people pass through every single day — often without realizing it.

Awareness matters. Education matters. Prevention matters.

At Forever Joy, our mission is to continue those conversations, provide resources, and support individuals and families impacted by addiction.

A recent major federal drug trafficking investigation resulted in charges against 11 individuals connected to an international operation involving methamphetamine and GBL — a chemical commonly associated with the production of GHB. Authorities say the operation stretched from South Korea to multiple cities across the United States and began after a fatal overdose investigation in Washington, D.C. More than 5,000 pounds of GBL and 75 pounds of methamphetamine were reportedly seized during the investigation. (Department of Justice)

Stories like this are an important reminder that substance abuse, trafficking, and addiction continue to impact communities everywhere, often in ways many people never see firsthand.

At Forever Joy, our mission is rooted in education, awareness, prevention, and support for individuals and families affected by addiction.

National Prevention Week is May 10–16, and this year’s theme is “A Celebration of Possibility.”

Prevention starts with conversations. Honest ones. Uncomfortable ones. Life-saving ones.

Families, parents, caregivers, coaches, teachers, and trusted adults all play a role in helping young people understand the real dangers surrounding fentanyl, counterfeit pills, and substances purchased or shared online. Many young people do not realize how dangerous one choice can be in today’s world.

Talking about these topics can feel difficult, but silence helps no one.

Start early. Keep talking. Stay connected.

Conversations save lives. đź’™

Yesterday we busted out the safety vests and garbage bags!

We spent the day walking roughly 3 miles from Geist Road to Hildreth Road on both sides of the highway for our annual Adopt-A-Highway cleanup in memory of our Cassidy Joy Metropulos.

It’s not glamorous work, but it’s meaningful work. Every bag filled is a reminder that community care comes in many forms: showing up, giving back, honoring loved ones, and taking pride in the place we call home.

A beautiful day with even better people. đź’›
