I am Raymond Morkeberg commander of the Sons of American legion squadron #11. Are you a veteran or know someone who is that needs help with anything let us know. Doesn't matter how small or how big. From helping loading your groceries in your house raking or mowing your yard we are here to help no chRg to you. The Son of American legion is here for all those who have served this wonderful country. Happy independence day. Remember to be safe and be responsible. Most importantly Remember there are veterans with ptsd that have problems with fireworks so check your veterans in the community and make sure they are ok.

The havre SAL Squadron #11 attended the 2026 department convention and boy was it a blast.

Barrett Morkeberg: Recognized as the youngest SAL Detachment Officer.
Recognized as the ONLY Squadron Historian to submit a history book.
Received a Legion Commander’s Coin for his work and his book will be submitted to National competition.
Barrett will also retain SAL Detachment Historian for a second year.
Barrett and Ray were selected to present the missing man table and reading at Department Banquet.

SAL New Member Recruiter Award (5)

Requested by Dept Adjutant to be the SAL representative on the Children and Youth Scholarship program.

Andrew Noel:
SAL Detachment Chaplain
Filled in many times when requested as chaplain at meetings such as SAL and ALR.

Bob Brewer:
Retained Dept Sgt at Arms (2nd term) and may be appointed for a second term as SAL Detachment Sgt at
Arms when the new commander makes his appointments.

Jed Damson:
Finance Committee Chair

Lowell Long:
SAL Alternate Nat’l Executive Committeeman

George Template:
Recognized for being the oldest event attendee.

Dave Zimmer:
District 2 Commander
Also his work with George was anonymously recognize by the department adjutant in a speech as being the very example of veterans helping
veterans.
