Tony and I just wanted to say thank you.

We've officially reached 1,400 followers, and every one of you has helped us get here.

Whether you've donated, volunteered, adopted, shared a post, liked a post, or simply followed along, we appreciate your support more than you know.

For those who may be newer to the page, Havelock Animals Association is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded specifically and only for Havelock Animal Control.

Everything we do comes back to supporting HAC and the animals in their care.

I'd also like to thank the many local groups, pages, and administrators who allow us to share and cross-post information. Every time one of our posts is shared, approved, reposted, or otherwise helped along by members of the community, it helps us reach people we may never have reached otherwise.

Without Havelock Animal Control, there is no Havelock Animals Association.

So thank you for helping us reach 1,400 followers and for believing in what we're trying to accomplish. 🐾❤️

❤️ Just a Thank You ❤️

Tony and I wanted to take a moment and simply say thank you.

Whether you've donated, volunteered, adopted, shared a post, liked a post, followed the page, or just quietly supported what we're trying to do, we appreciate every single one of you.

Most people who follow us already know who we are and what we're about. But for those who may be newer to the page or still aren't quite sure, Havelock Animals Association is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded specifically and only for Havelock Animal Control.

That's it.

We don't operate a shelter. We don't handle adoptions. We don't house animals.

We exist solely to support Havelock Animal Control and the animals in their care.

Our goal has always been long-term support. Whether that's helping with veterinary care, equipment, training, supplies, community awareness, or other needs identified by HAC, we're here to help where we can.

If you've ever wondered why I post so much about Havelock Animal Control, that's the reason.

Nearly every post I make ties back to HAC in some way. The animals, adoptions, volunteer opportunities, donations, supplies, education, awareness, success stories, and sometimes the difficult realities they face.

Not because I need attention.

Not because Tony needs attention.

But because awareness matters.

The more people know about Havelock Animal Control, the more opportunities there are for adoptions, volunteers, donations, and community support.

I'd also like to thank the many local groups, pages, and administrators who allow us to share and cross-post information. Every time one of our posts is shared, approved, reposted, or otherwise helped along by members of the community, it helps us reach people we may never have reached otherwise. That means more eyes on the animals, more awareness for HAC, and more opportunities for the community to get involved.

The truth is, without Havelock Animal Control, there is no Havelock Animals Association.

There would be no mission. No purpose. No reason for us to exist.

Everything we do comes back to supporting HAC and helping improve the lives of the animals that pass through their doors.

So thank you for following along, believing in what we're trying to accomplish, and helping us continue to grow.

And if you're reading this but haven't followed our page yet, we'd love for you to give us a like and join us on the journey. 🐾❤️

☀️ Motivational Monday ☀️

A new week is here.

Some of us are heading to work. Some are heading to appointments. Some are already looking at Friday and wondering why it's still four days away.

But whatever this week has in store, try to do one thing that leaves something a little better than you found it.

Help a neighbor. Hold a door. Volunteer somewhere. Adopt an animal. Donate a bag of food. Give someone a reason to smile.

That's really what Havelock Animal Control is about too.

Every adoption creates space for another animal. Every volunteer makes the day a little easier. Every donation helps provide something an animal needs.

🕙 Monday-Saturday

☀️ Sunday Morning Reflections ☀️

Good morning, HAA family.

I hope everyone is enjoying a slower pace this morning. Maybe you're sitting on the porch with a cup of coffee, heading to church, watching the birds, or trying to negotiate for six more minutes of sleep before a dog decides you've had enough rest for one lifetime.

Sundays have always been a good day to slow down and reflect a little.

To appreciate what we have. To appreciate the people around us. And to remember that sometimes the smallest acts of kindness can make the biggest difference.

That brings me to Havelock Animal Control.

While most of us are enjoying our Sunday, there are still animals sitting behind kennel doors waiting for Monday to come. Waiting for visitors. Waiting for attention. Waiting for someone to give them a chance.

There are plenty of cats and kittens currently looking for homes. And as of this writing, Fetty is still waiting too.

He's deaf, blind in one eye, and has spent over a month watching people come and go.

And here's the part nobody likes talking about.

Animal shelters do not have unlimited space.

When kennels fill up and animals keep coming in, eventually difficult decisions have to be made. Nobody likes it. Nobody wants it. The staff certainly don't enjoy it. But it is the reality faced by shelters all across the country every single day.

The easiest way to prevent those realities?

Adopt. Volunteer. Share posts. Spay and neuter your pets. Be part of the solution.

Because every animal that leaves for a loving home creates space for another one that desperately needs help.

So this Sunday, if you're looking for something meaningful to do next week, consider stopping by Havelock Animal Control.

You may just find a new best friend.

And that would be a pretty good reflection for next Sunday. 🐾❤️

🐾 Kitten Food Reminder 🐾

I stopped by and dropped off some dry and wet kitten food for Havelock Animal Control today. It's not a huge amount, but it should be enough to help get them through the weekend.

Unfortunately, kitten season doesn't take weekends off.

There is still a steady stream of kittens coming in, and those little bellies empty out food bowls pretty quickly.

If you're out shopping this weekend at Dollar General, Food Lion, Walmart, or wherever you shop, please consider picking up a bag of dry kitten food, some wet kitten food, or both.

Donations can be dropped off directly at:

📍 Havelock Animal Control
6 Governmental Ave, Havelock, NC

🕙 Monday beginning at 10:00am

It doesn't have to be a lot. A bag here, a few cans there, and before you know it, the community has helped keep a lot of hungry kittens fed.

As always, thank you for supporting Havelock Animal Control and the animals in their care. 🐾❤️

🐾 Havelock Animal Control is in need of kitten food! 🐾

At the request of HAC, they could use both wet and dry kitten food as kitten season continues to stay busy.

As many of you know, this time of year brings a steady influx of kittens, and those tiny mouths can go through food surprisingly fast.

If you'd like to help, donations can be dropped off directly at Havelock Animal Control during business hours:

📍 6 Governmental Ave, Havelock 🕙 Monday-Saturday | 10:00am-3:00pm

Every bag, every can, and every donation helps.

Thank you for continuing to support Havelock Animal Control and the animals in their care 🐾❤️

🐾 Meet Fetty 🐾

Fetty has now been at Havelock Animal Control for over a month.

He's a 9 month old large mixed breed dog. Hes' deaf, blind in one eye, and honestly one of those dogs that just needs someone willing to look past the kennel door.

Yes, he's become a bit of a jumper. But after spending over a month confined between cinder block walls and a kennel door, can you really blame him?

The good news is he's easy to redirect. Give him a toy to focus on and keep him occupied, and he settles down pretty quickly.

Once he chills out, he'll usually sit at my feet or lay under my legs while I'm spending time with him.

And despite being deaf, he's a smart dog. Get his attention and give him the hand signal for "sit," and he'll sit right down for you.

Shelter life isn't easy. Kennel stress is real. What you're seeing is a dog that needs room to be a dog again.

Fetty isn't looking for perfection.

He's looking for a chance.

📍 Havelock Animal Control 6 Governmental Ave, Havelock, NC
🕙 Monday-Saturday 10:00am-3:00pm

Have questions about Fetty? Feel free to ask. I'll gladly tell you what I've personally observed while spending time with him. For anything related to adoption, medical history, or official shelter information, one of the ACOs can provide the most accurate answer.

Just dropping by to say hi and hope every one of you has had a wonderful Thursday so far .

The weekend is finally creeping closer, the animals at Havelock Animal Control (6 Governmental Ave, Havelock) are still waiting for visitors and attention as always, and somewhere a cat is currently knocking something off someone's counter for absolutely no reason whatsoever.

Hope everyone has a great rest of the evening ❤️
