We’ve been getting a lot of calls lately about wildlife showing up in yards, under sheds, and around homes, so we wanted to share a few helpful reminders and tips.
In Rhode Island, healthy wildlife cannot legally be relocated because they are present on your property. Most animals are simply passing through or looking for food, water, and shelter.

Here are a few ways to help prevent unwanted wildlife visits:
• Secure trash cans and pet food
• Close off access under decks and sheds
• Remove outdoor food sources when possible
• Keep bird feeders clean and away from the house
• Give wildlife space and never approach or feed them
Seeing wildlife is often a sign of a healthy environment, and learning to coexist safely benefits both people and animals. 🦊🦝🦌🌿
should you see an injured, sick or animal that is acting odd please feel free to reach out to East providence animal control for assistance 401-435-7675

🐾❄️ Pet Safety❄️🐾
Winter weather impacts people and pets alike — freezing temperatures, snow, and ice can create serious safety concerns for the whole family.
Keep your pets safe this winter with these simple tips:

🕛Limit Time outdoors
If it’s too cold for you, it’s too cold for them. Keep walks shorter during extreme cold.
🐾Protect Their Paws
Snow, ice, and road salt can irritate paws. Wipe them after walks and consider pet-safe booties.
✅Keep Them Dry
Wet fur makes pets colder faster. Towel dry after snow or rain.
🫗Maintain Food & Water
Pets burn more calories staying warm. Make sure they have access to fresh, unfrozen water.

A little extra care goes a long way in keeping your pets safe and comfortable!
