WE NEEDED $1,885. WE NEEDED A RALLY. IT DIDN’T HAPPEN.

And now the deadline has passed — unless pay $1,885 NOW.

I've been trying for so long to get ahead of this. I've reached out everywhere I can think of. I've applied for grants, contacted organizations, asked businesses for help, shared our story, fundraised and kept pushing every single day.

Some incredible people have helped, and I am so grateful. But we never got the rally we needed to close the gap.

And while I've been trying to catch up, the cost of keeping 32 cows safe doesn't stop for a single day.

More hay has to be bought.
Fly control. Mineral. Daily care.
And now another lifesaving vet expense of my own has landed on top of everything.

$1,895 doesn't get us ahead. It gets us CAUGHT UP on what was already due.

Then tomorrow comes.

That's the part I desperately need people to understand.

I didn't start this because it was easy. I started because these lives mattered. I've built Nebraska's first and only dedicated cow sanctuary from the ground up and kept going through things that could have made me quit a hundred times.

I'm still here. I'm still fighting. But I cannot fund a sanctuary alone.

“It takes nothing away from a human to be kind to an animal.” — Joaquin Phoenix

And if you saw the article about us, please share it. Help our story reach someone new. Maybe the person who can change everything simply hasn't seen us yet.

TODAY WE'RE ASKING FOR JUST $2.

We also have $75 IN GIFTS TO GO:

★ $25 Target
★ $25 Hy-Vee — can be used for gas
★ $25 Casey's — can be used for gas

$2 = 1 name
$5 = 4 names
$10 = 10 names
$20 = 25 names
$50 = 75 names

If thousands of people scroll past because they think $2 won't matter, we don't make it.

If those same people stop and give the $2?

That changes everything.

We needed $1,895. We still do. Right now.

Please don't just scroll past us today. Give $2. Tag someone. Share our story. Help me turn this around.

When it rains it pours. $1,895 needed immediately to catch up on cows to not lose their home. I just got more bad news. This is my own bill but can see what my day is like. This is Princess my outdoor cat. I dropped her off at the vet this am suspecting Flea Anemia. She has wet FIP vet thinks. It's Feline Covid or bacterial she has fluid on her chest. Took out a lot by needle. Tests need sent to KState. She has stayed at my house every night since late last fall. I've tried getting her inside my house. Couldn't move and leave her or take her and let her loose outside she'd run off. So tied me to my house even if could afford to move. Today I had 4 options.

Could always put to sleep, take her home try inside but may be contagious try to give her meds 2x a day til will eat in food, put her back outside and try to medicate her, or leave her at the vet for treatment for at least 2 weeks to 90 days to receive Antivirals, get litter box trained ready to move in house and while I can pet her and she'll sit on my lap she doesn't like to be picked up get her more tame. Theirs higher chances to beat it now, used to be 2%. I chose option 4. Her bill will be my responsibility so really need help with cows but she can use some thoughts. On 1 person this is a lot. She would make my home complete again. Looks like KC except Princess is part calico and striped vs just striped. I'm hoping the notched ear she's always had means she was trapped and spayed before showed up. She is very sweet. I feel like can't catch a break, but also not a decision to not give her a chance. I just KC. I wish always healthy or simple diagnosis.

🚨 UPDATE: $580 RAISED — $1,920 STILL NEEDED ASAP! 🚨

A national organization just shared our story and our urgent need to keep my rescued cows fed and safe. ❤️🐮 I am so grateful for everyone helping us get this far, but I still need $1,920 to close this gap.

I am asking for help because I cannot meet this emergency alone. Any donation, AS LITTLE AS $2.00 HELPS, regardless of the amount, will help provide hay, essential care, and a secure home for the herd. If you are unable to donate, please consider sharing this post. Reaching the right person could make all the difference. Thank you!

😭❤️ I don't even know what to say. Thank you so much to Penny and National Animal News for taking the time to tell our story and help give my cows a voice.

I've fought so hard to get them here, and right now I need all the help I can get to keep their home.

Please take a minute to read our story. If it touches your heart, please share it. Every share helps more people learn who these cows are and why their lives matter. 🐮❤️

Thank you so much for helping us be seen.

🚨 𝗨𝗥𝗚𝗘𝗡𝗧: 𝗜 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗽 𝗸𝗲𝗲𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗺𝘆 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗰𝘂𝗲𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝘄𝘀 𝗳𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝗮𝗳𝗲.

My name is Allison, and I am the founder of Riverview Rescue & Sanctuary, Nebraska’s first dedicated cow sanctuary and a registered 501(c)(3).

As a child growing up on a farm, I became deeply attached to the cows. When they were sold, I had no voice in what happened to them. I cried when they left, but I was still expected to help load them. Those experiences stayed with me and shaped the promise I would later make: if I ever had the ability to save them, I would.

Years later, when Jeffrey was born, I agreed to help care for him only if I could keep him. I was eventually given Jeffrey, our oldest cow Big Mama, and her calf. Big Mama lived to be 29 years old. When more cows were going to be sold, I saved them too.

I began saving cows before I knew what an animal sanctuary was. I simply knew that I loved them and wanted to give them the safety I could not give them when I was a child.

That promise became Riverview Rescue & Sanctuary.

The years since have brought more hardship than I ever expected. I lost my mom to stage 4 cancer in September 2021. I later faced housing instability, repeated threats of eviction, gates that were locked to prevent me from reaching the cows, and the loss of equipment I depended on to care for them. After three cows escaped and were struck by vehicles, I knew I had to move the herd somewhere safer.

When our next living arrangement also became unsafe, people helped me move the entire herd in one day. It took seven hours, but every cow made it to safety.

𝗧𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗹𝗼𝘀𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝘀𝗲𝘁𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗸, 𝗜 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗻𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗴𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗻 𝘂𝗽 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺.

Today, I run Riverview almost entirely on my own. I live an hour away from the cows and drive back and forth every day to feed them, check on them, and provide the care they need. I am working toward moving closer, but housing near the sanctuary is considerably more expensive.

I am now facing an immediate financial emergency. I need help covering 𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁, 𝗶𝗻𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲, 𝗵𝗮𝘆, 𝗳𝗹𝘆 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗹, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗯𝗹𝗼𝗰𝗸𝘀. My current list of urgent expenses totals approximately $𝟮,𝟱𝟭𝟬 before donations received today are applied. I need to purchase two more bales of hay immediately, and more will be needed afterward. Drought and fires have caused hay prices to rise, but I remain committed to providing my cows with quality hay.

I am deeply grateful that Animal Victory a reputable national organization who provided $1,000 in emergency assistance. That support has made an important difference, but I still need help closing the remaining gap and keeping the sanctuary stable. I will update the amount needed as donations are received.

My cows are my family, and they have nowhere else to go. Jeffrey now weighs approximately 4,400 pounds. Relocating an entire herd is extraordinarily difficult, and there is no alternative home waiting for them.

𝗜 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗹𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗮𝗹𝗺𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝗸𝗲𝗲𝗽 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺 𝘀𝗮𝗳𝗲, 𝗯𝘂𝘁 𝗜 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗹𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗺𝘆 𝗱𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺.

🚨 $200 MATCH ADDED til noon! $2 FRIDAY — WE HAVE TO GIVE UP UNLESS WE GET HELP NOW. 🚨 WE NEED ALL OF YOU TO GIVE JUST $2.. WE NEED A MIRACLE. WE NEED AT LEAST $2,500.

I’m terrified that after everything I’ve fought through to save these cows, this is how it ends. Our rent is way past due, we owe for hay AND need more now. If we don’t get caught up while new costs keep adding on every day, we never will. We are at risk of losing their home. We HAVE to catch up NOW.

Everything has piled on at once. Jeffrey has an abscess I’m watching, we’re in 95° heat and need fly control, and now Princess needs a vet after the flea nightmare that took KC. She is going in. I fear same bacterial flea bite.

I’ve spent nearly $300 just treating my house for fleas, PLUS Revolution for everyone, endless washing, drying and scrubbing.

I’ve reached out everywhere for emergency assistance. Most haven’t responded, but one did help, and I am beyond grateful. It helped lower what we owe, but we are still way behind and urgently need to catch up.

I’m also incredibly grateful for every single person who has donated, shared and continued supporting us. Every dollar matters and every one of you is part of why these cows are still here.

I’ve found more grants and microgrants that could help us longer-term—but those take time we don’t have today.

💔 I’ve worked too hard and come too far to lose everything now.

🐮 Please give $2. Share. Tag a friend and ask them for $2. If you can not donate even a small amount please share, like, comment.

We need a miracle NOW so these cows still have a home tomorrow.

Jeffrey has an absess. I posted a lil about this in post before. It is from a sticker, a tree branch he lives leaves, catching on barbed wire or a bolt like on hay feeder. I'm watching closely. Their is a lil hole which can help if drains. If not he needs vet care. Absesses are d4ngerous can quickly spread infections thru whole body. Also he's had lump jaw before more succeptible.. Why need all caught up now. The stickers popped fast when dry and hot. All are sprayed. Now dry I need to go clean them up to burn. Wanting grass seed to cover all areas prevent stickers, better on hooves.

🚨 $2 THURSDAY — WE NEED A MIRACLE. TIME IS UP. 🚨

$2,500 is due NOW. Past due. We have to catch up on past-due rent to keep their home, hay, fly control, mineral and salt. It’s hot, and they’re going through mineral and salt FAST or lose everything.

Today I’m asking for just $2.

$2 is less than a bottle of water at a gas station. Less than a pop. Would you trade one for tap water today if it meant helping save a cow? 🐮❤️

Imagine what happens if everyone who sees this gives $2, tags a friend and asks them to give $2, then shares. So many people giving such a small amount can create a miracle.

I have fought so hard to keep going after losing everything else. If there is help out there, I’ve applied for it. Grants, emergency assistance, businesses—I’m trying everything I can find. But it all takes time, and we don't have time left.

If I had $1 for every time someone told me to sell them, or $1 for every time I got knocked down, kicked while I was down and STILL got back up, I probably wouldn't need to ask.

There were so many times I could've walked away. I never gave up on them.

They saved me, and they deserve for me to keep fighting to save them. They are all I have and the reason I've kept going.

And now, on top of everything else, Jeffrey has an abscess. He's my baby. 💔

There isn't somewhere else for an entire herd to simply go. Rescues everywhere are struggling too. We have to save their home. Thank you everyone who has donated, shared, liked, commented.

🙏 JUST $2 TODAY.

*EMERGENCY* Even $2 helps! WE NEED HELP NOW SO DON'T LOSE THEIR HOME AND HAVE TO GIVE UP! RENT AND HAY ALL PAST DUE! NEED MORE HAY! NEED FLY CONTROL & MINERAL. . WITH 6,000 FOLLOWERS A .50 DONATION PAYS PAST DUE. Raised $290 yesterday now need at least $3,500. Need hay so $ keeps going up. Why never can get behind.

Right now my only hope is all of you to save their home. But we need help now. I've reached out to over 100 places. If it's out there I've applied. Even urgent help takes time. I filled out urgent and found more grants to apply for. Still have more to look at-that's hope. Those are more microgrants but those may be easier to get as more available to give. Everything takes time.. More opening again with the fall season. Then Giving Tuesday is around the corner. I've reached out to news, radio, businesses. As I don't align with the state it's harder for state help. But I still tried. Most the urgent ones are for people. When working online less time with cows. Now that all stickers have d1ed off need to get them out and burned so cows don't get stuck by them and infections so more vet costs. Also wanting/need rye grass seed to fill in all the dirt spots before cold winter. Otherwise could be all ice. Still needing shelters before cold.

Yesterday I changed this hose. The old one had sprung a leak. They fixed my Zero g hoses as the ends were bad. They had some zero g hoses on clearance at Bomgaars they have lifetime warranties I really wanted but not in the budget. They were $20 each 50 ft. They weigh about 2 lbs and easy to wrap up & carry. I kept turning off wrong hose on connection and finally had to shut off faucet. Working online was late checking so empty. This tank I have 4 fish-I need more. They're .29 each. Other have a lot more. Need fish for tank by the pond. They help keep the tanks clean. Cows have 2 other tanks and the pond to drink out of. 1 tank around the windbreak other by pond. They were hiding as people across the road hollering. So I led them over to drink.

Have had a big heatwave this week, brings out more flies and they need more mineral. I am still dealing with fleas at my house despite all the treatment inside. The fleas are bad outside. I need diamctous earth. Then a spray bottle so can get the weeds under control, my spray bottles clogged. I fear my main stray has flea anemia and may be bitten by same bacterial flea KC was. She's been treated with the frontline stuff. But fleas still bite just that causes them to d1e. I don't see fleas on her but from before. I can't tell if losing weight cause of heat. It's a specific weight loss on the bacterial one. So that's added onto my plate. She really needs to see the vet too. Would cost more cause while I can pet her she doesn't like picked up. I've tried moving her into my house. Cat grants are for life saving if really bad. I'd like to pickup Kc's ashes, bring her home pay off vet bill too.

So a lot going on. Main focus is pay past due rent and hay ASAP. Thank you everyone who's shared, donated. It all adds up. A small donation can save their lives and home. Donations are tax deductible.
