In honor of International Children’s Day, we'd like to shine a light on our littlest grievers. Many adults have difficulty understanding how children are impacted by a significant loss. The truth is that kids grieve differently from adults, and show their grief in unique ways; they also understand death differently as they enter each developmental stage -- raising new questions about the loss as they grow.
Children's books are a great way to start conversations about death and grief with little ones. Through our Grief 101 program, Sharing Kindness has made Child's Grief Book Packs available at many Cape & Islands libraries, which include 11 books vetted by local librarians, plus a guide for reading and information about each book. Visit our website for the full list of libraries where the book pack is available: https://sharingkindness.org/childs-grief-book-pack-2/
