Christ City of Refuge

Today, Disciple Now, a group of young people from multiple Hartsville churches, came out to help us build a fire pit area for Christ City of Refuge.

Many hands truly do make light work! These young people worked hard and finished the whole project in just a few hours.
We’re thankful for their willingness to serve and give their time. This fire pit area will get plenty of use this fall and winter, providing a place for fellowship, conversation, and time together around the fire.

Thank you, Disciple Now, for being a blessing to The Refuge!

We are grateful today for the churches in our community who stand with Christ City of Refuge, through volunteers, giving, supplies, food, and most importantly prayer. To every church that has ever partnered with us: thank you. You are a part of every second chance that happens here!

It's been quiet on here. The campus has not been.

Intakes happened. Discharges happened. Promotions happened. Rides still took people to work, detox, meetings.

That's the thing about this work. It doesn't wait for a good photo or a fundraising push. It just keeps going, one person at a time, most days without anybody watching.

We're going to be better about sharing it. Wins, setbacks, the ordinary Friday stuff. Because you all have carried this place from the beginning and you deserve to see where it goes.

We are so thankful for Lakeview Baptist Church and Mission Hartsville. Tonight they gifted us with gas cards for our transport vehicles. This is imperative to help us get people to detox, to recovery meetings, to jobs. To the appointments that actually turn a life around. A full tank sounds small until it’s the difference between someone making it to detox or not.

They also had us over for dinner. Grilled for us. Sat with us. They always make us feel like family.

We’re grateful for partners who get it. Who see the gap and fill it, quiet-like, without fanfare.

Thank you, Lakeview Baptist and Mission Hartsville. For the gas, the food, and the company.

If your car's looking a little rough (no judgment, ours too), swing by and get it cleaned up for a good cause. Every dollar goes right back into the work we do here.

This one's for our residents...

Do you know how hard it is to change your whole life? Not fix one thing. Change everything. When crisis is all you've ever known, there's no "getting back to normal." You have to build a life you've never had.

That's exactly what the people on this campus are doing. Every single day. They're showing up. Doing the work. Making the hard choices, over and over. And with the Lord's help, they're not just surviving anymore. They're building something real.

We see you. We're proud of you. We're honored to walk this road with you.
