I thought I'd take a moment to share the life consuming project I've been working on since February of this year for my friends who haven't heard about what I've been up to. In February, I started conducting interviews with many of the top educational piano composers alive today. Since I began, I have spent over 42 hours interviewing these brilliant composers, learning what makes them tick, where they find inspiration, and asking them to walk me through teaching some of their pieces. The goal is to create a resource for students and teachers to learn directly from the composers who wrote the works the students are playing and the teachers are teaching. I've learned so much from these awesome people, and made some great new friends. In addition to the time I spent talking with these composers, I'd estimate that I've spent over 200 hours editing these videos into an easy to watch format. If you're interested, I'd be humbled if you'd check out the YouTube channel of the music non-profit I volunteer for, The Wisconsin Federation of Music Clubs and watch a video. I hope you find them helpful, interesting, and engaging.
