April 11–17 is Black Maternal Health Week 🖤

In the United States, Black women are 2–3 times more likely to die from pregnancy-related causes than white women—and many of these deaths are preventable.

Black women also face nearly double the rate of preterm birth, meaning more babies are born too early, increasing the risk of serious health complications.

These disparities are not about biology—they reflect gaps in healthcare, systemic inequities, and the impact of chronic stress.

This week, we raise awareness, uplift Black mothers, and advocate for equitable, respectful, and quality care for all.

Because leaving the hospital isn’t the end — it’s just the beginning.

Every child deserves access, independence, and the chance to thrive. And today… we got to see that in action 🥹💛

One year ago today… Jamir came HOME 💛🏡

After 177 days in the NICU, and 90 days in the step down unit, we finally got to start life outside those hospital walls.

This year hasn’t been easy, but it’s been filled with so much growth, love, and strength.

I’m forever grateful for how far he’s come 🫶🏽
