🌊 Visionary Youth CT Takes on Martha’s Vineyard!🚌✨

This weekend, Visionary Youth CT had the amazing opportunity to attend a bus trip to beautiful Martha’s Vineyard! What started as a day of exploring, connecting, and enjoying the island turned into another opportunity to share who we are and why we do this work.

Throughout the trip, we were able to network with so many incredible people, build new connections, and share the **vision and mission of Visionary Youth CT.

One thing we continue to learn is that networking doesn't only happen at meetings, conferences, or formal events. Sometimes the most meaningful connections happen through a simple conversation while you're out experiencing life. You never know who you may meet or where a conversation may lead!

And of course, we made sure to enjoy everything Martha’s Vineyard had to offer along the way! 🌊☀️🚌

We are grateful for every new connection, every conversation, and every opportunity to introduce more people to the work of Visionary Youth CT.

Visionary Youth CT would like to extend a heartfelt THANK YOU to Elexio's Barber Shop for inviting us to be part of their amazing Back-to-School Event!

Back-to-school season is an exciting time for our young people, but we also understand that preparing for a new school year can be challenging for many families. Events like this demonstrate what can happen when local businesses, community organizations, families, and community leaders come together with one common goal—supporting our youth.

We were grateful for the opportunity to join Elexio's Barber Shop in creating a positive and welcoming environment for children and families as they prepare to return to school. Providing young people with resources, encouragement, support, and opportunities to feel confident about themselves can make a meaningful difference as they begin a new academic year.

At Visionary Youth CT, our mission goes beyond programming. We believe in being present in our communities, building genuine relationships, connecting families to resources, and collaborating with organizations and businesses that share our commitment to helping young people succeed.

A special thank you to the entire Elexio's Barber Shop team for investing your time, energy, and resources into our community. Your commitment to giving back reminds us that a barbershop can be much more than a place to get a haircut—it can also be a place of connection, mentorship, confidence, and community. 💙

⚾️🇵🇷 **Celebrating the Legacy of Roberto Clemente!** 🇵🇷⚾️

Visionary Youth CT had the pleasure of attending the Los Chivos de Hartford Roberto Clemente Celebration at the Hartford Yard Goats!

It was an incredible opportunity to come together with members of our community to celebrate and honor the life, legacy, and lasting impact of the legendary Roberto Clemente. Clemente was much more than an extraordinary baseball player—he was a humanitarian, a leader, a proud Puerto Rican, and someone who used his platform to advocate for others and give back to communities in need.

His commitment to service, leadership, perseverance, cultural pride, and helping others** represents many of the same values we strive to instill in the young people and families we serve through Visionary Youth CT.

We are grateful to Los Chivos de Hartford and the Hartford Yard Goats for creating an opportunity for our community to gather, celebrate our culture, recognize an incredible legacy, and enjoy a beautiful day of baseball and fellowship.

For Visionary Youth CT, being present at community events like this is about more than attendance. It is about **building relationships, supporting our community partners, celebrating our culture, and showing our youth the importance of leadership and community involvement.**

💜 **Community Conversation on Wellness & Resilience** 💜

Visionary Youth CT was honored to be part of the **Community Conversation on Wellness & Resilience** at the Hartford Public Library – Albany Branch. This meaningful event brought together community leaders, advocates, professionals, and residents for an important conversation surrounding **vicarious trauma, emotional wellness, resilience, healthy boundaries, and community healing**.

Our COO, Paul Caraballo, participated as part of the **CARE Program alongside Nicole and Kyrie**, contributing to the important work of creating spaces where individuals can feel supported, connected, and empowered.

Our Co-Founder/CEO, Veronica Ruiz, MSOL & M. Psych., was honored to serve as one of the featured panelists, bringing her professional background in psychology, leadership experience, and years of community work into a courageous conversation about how trauma impacts not only individuals, but families, professionals, and entire communities.

We are grateful to have shared this space with fellow panelists and community voices **Nick LeBron, Hartford Community Police Officer Budhoo, and Georgia Powell**, as well as the organizations and community partners who helped make this event possible.

At Visionary Youth CT, we believe that strengthening our communities requires more than providing resources—it requires creating spaces where people can have difficult conversations, learn healthy coping strategies, build resilience, and know that they do not have to navigate life's challenges alone.

Thank you to everyone who organized, participated in, and attended this powerful community conversation. We look forward to continuing to collaborate, educate, advocate, and create opportunities that promote **wellness, resilience, and stronger communities.**

We’re proud to join Elexio’s Barbershop and the East Hartford Police Department for a morning focused on giving back and helping our youth start the new school year feeling confident and prepared!

During the conversation, Veronica shared her leadership journey, the passion behind Visionary Youth CT, and the "why" that continues to drive her commitment to empowering youth, strengthening families, and creating positive change throughout our communities.
