Happy Saturday Fam,

Today was our first rehearsal back since the kiddos started school & boy oh boy a time was had!

We had 14 kiddos in the mix! Some of our choir members & leaders weren't there today BUT if we are at full capacity for rehearsal we are at 25!

Now when we started this journey there was a lofty goal & I know in time we will get there.

YET today made my heart smile. Children ranging in ages, from all different backgrounds, some attending churches, some not YET all playing together, singing together, & building amazing memories.

Today reminded me that love really does conquer all, God really is GREAT, & dreams really do come true in His time!

Happy Friday's Eve Choir Fam!

We took a little break so our members could get reacquainted with their new school year schedules BUT we are back at it!

Our next choir rehearsal will be next Saturday, September 12th at Parker Memorial Community Center (262q Main Street, Hartford, CT.) from 12:30pm-3:30pm.

If you have a young person between the ages of 5-18 we would love to have them!

P.S. lunch and snack are provided!

Come to choir rehearsal, we promise you will learn to SING with confidence, SERVE with intention, & GROW in character!

Happy Tuesday Choir Fam,

We had an amazing summer with the kiddos & we know that the time has come for them to return to school.

We pray that each & every child has a safe, fun year filled with peace. May they all have a desire to learn new things, may the parents & guardians be patient (with that homework), & may the teachers feel supported. May the administration receive the resources they need to support the staff & the families & most importantly may each & every school they enter be covered in Jesus name. Amen.

We are working on our Fall/Winter schedule & it will be released shortly.

We are excited to see some new faces upon our return & can't wait to hear all the stories of how great it is to be back at school!

Happy Tuesday Choir Fam!

Yesterday makes 15 years that I have been creating & running kid's programs. Truth be told, my mother was my first example as I watched her run Sunday School and Youth activities as a child.

I've taken the ball and run with it. Our programs have spanned two states & a couple cities lol.

The kiddos I started with are now grownups, some with their own babies. Even though my primary focus was girls, we always ended up with some boys in the mix which is why when I decided to begin again choir was first because it's inclusive!

We have done community service projects, hygiene drives, installed a playground, made rain barrels, installed community gardens, made blankets for the homeless & we are going to add to the list.

As I ponder all of the highs and lows one thing is for certain; your gift will always make room for you AND if you are willing God is able. Every door hasn't sprung open for me & truthfully at times I had to restrain myself HOWEVER what I do know is NO MAN validates what God calls you for so don't get stuck on the NO. Just trust God, if He has called you to it, the right YES will come.

Have I had people play in my face? Absolutely, yet the proof is in the programming, lol.

To date, we have 28 kids in choir & it's growing. We are getting ready to add additional activities & we know the goal that God has placed in our hands. So we trust & move forward.

To anyone who feels stuck, be encouraged. Start small, even if it's in your living room. Trust God, go forth and BECOME šŸ©·

To the parents, guardians, program partners & supporters; Thank you for seeing my heart & for making room!

Happy Sunday Fam!

The day after choir rehearsal is always a blur! But we actually captured the kids in rehearsal yesterday. 7 kids were away doing different summer activities so our group was a little more intimate, BUT don't let the size fool you; the energy they have (oh to be young again).

I'm mindful of the blessing it is to work with children and it's not something I take lightly.

I'm absolutely grateful for the help I have because truthfully they make teaching easy. There are so many reasons why I started with choir BUT the easiest one is this; I was an absolutely privileged child who came from a mother that invested in all my talents. I started piano lessons at 3 years old and music has always been my safe space, me moment to tap out, so I can tap into the Source that sustains me. To this day, if I'm having a moment I can play for hours, and make my fingers cry for me. When you add the singing it just brings you to another space and place. You don't need keys to sing, just a voice that is willing.

Yesterday we started cleaning up a new song we are learning "My Worship ". Very simple yet powerful song. As you can see the kids got through it, wrapped in a tablecloth (because they were cold), stimming (to self regulate), leaning back and singing. Yesterday they learned WHY we Worship and we will keep building on that just like we will eventually build the harmony in and probably raise the key too lol.

At choir we are a safe space where we will sing, stim, & grow!
