Connecticut Invention Convention The CIC is the nation’s oldest continuously operating children’s invention competition.

The Connecticut Invention Convention is a program of NextMinds and a partner program of the Massachusetts Invention Convention. CIC is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit educational program designed to develop and enhance critical thinking skills in children in grades K-8 through invention, innovation and entrepreneurship, while encouraging interest in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).

🍎 Hey Connecticut K-12 educators! Are you looking for engaging, hands-on multidisciplinary STEAM programming for your students? The Connecticut Invention Convention is for YOU! 👩🏾‍🏫👨🏻‍🏫👩🏼‍🏫🧑🏽‍🏫

The Connecticut Invention Convention offers FREE invention education programming, lessons, activities, and resources that enhance what you already teach.

Registration is now open to enroll your classroom or school (including public, private, charter, or magnet schools) in the 2026-2027 CIC program year.

What You Get With Your 2026-2027 CIC Program Year Registration:
✅ Curriculum and resources to integrate invention education into the classroom
✅ Invitations to send students to the CIC state finals competition event
