In this episode of 5 Minutes of Impact: Short but Powerful Conversations with Connecticut Changemakers, we sit down with Julieta Barila-Worley, the Co-President of PFLAG Hartford. PFLAG Hartford is a local chapter of PFLAG, the nation's largest organization dedicated to supporting, educating, and advocating for LGBTQ+ people and those who love them. They serve LGBTQ+ individuals, parents, family members, educators, and allies throughout Connecticut by offering free peer support meetings—both in-person and virtual—where people can connect, share experiences, and find resources in a welcoming environment. 🌈

In this episode of The Paid Leave Podcast, we sit down with three experts from the Connecticut Bureau of Aging, which is part of the Connecticut Department of Aging and Disability Services (ADS). Jennifer Switalski, Jodi Brazal, and Meghan Brady work with Connecticut's aging population and discuss the challenges faced by older adults, including loneliness and mental health issues, as well as the importance of respite care for caregivers. They highlight the growing need for support as the population ages, with one in four Connecticut residents over 60.
