Carter, born in 2009, was diagnosed with a Pilocytic Astrocytoma in November of 2011. After having two resections and a placement of a ventriculoperitoneal shunt in his head permanently, he attempted to regain a life of normalcy. In 2014, Carter was diagnosed with Autism. Carter is also part of an active duty military family, which doesn’t make life any easier. This is why we choose to share our stories, so that others may prepare.
