North Arkansas Amateur Radio Society

North Arkansas Amateur Radio Society NAARS is centered in the Harrison area of the north central Arkansas Ozarks. Board members meet at 7:00pm. For more info.

Since 1963, the club has served radio amateurs with programs of communication and technical self-improvement and the community with public service and emergency communications. Club meetings are held on the 2nd Tuesday of each month in room M131 at North Arkansas College south campus at 7:30pm. Test sessions are held on the 2nd Saturday of each month by appointment only. We try to have a Fox Hunt on the 3rd Saturday of each month but that is not always possible. Fox hunts will be announced on this page and also via email to club members. on the club, check out our website at www.naars.org.

To all hams or anyone interested, We are starting in person meetings again. We are also offering a test session before the meeting. Both will be at the NAC South campus, room m131 on Tuesday, June 8th. The test session will be at 6pm and the meeting at 7pm. Everyone is invited.

The WB5CYX 6 Meter repeater is back online. Still need to do more testing of feed line, cans and antenna.

It is on 53.15 MHz, -1 MHz offset.

We will be having an in person club meeting at 6:00pm on Tuesday, October 13th at 2167 Union Road, Harrison. (This is the home of Johnny Crawford KB5JXF.) The meeting will be held outdoors so bring a lawn chair and a jacket. Masks and social distancing will be required. It's been a long 6 months with no meetings. We hope to see everyone there!

The NAARS Club is having a fundraiser. We are selling very nice Polo shirts with logo on front. You can get them with or without pockets for $32. Profits will help with insurance, equipment, fox hunts and field days as well as any unexpected things that come up. Our goals are to become active in the community and grow our great hobby. Everyone is invited to join our meetings the second Tuesday of every month at the college campus in Harrison, room 131. We meet at 6:30 pm for coffee, refreshments and fellowship. We look forward to meeting you.

The NAARS Club has changed our meeting time. We are in the same location and the same second Tuesday of each month. We have begun meeting from 6:30-7pm for refreshments before the meeting starts. Please join us February 11 for a Valentine surprise. Hope to see you there!
