🎤 Eric Probert, Silviculture Chief, DCNR Bureau of Forestry
With 29 years of experience—including 25 as a Timber Management Forester—Eric oversees DCNR’s timber sale program. He will provide an overview of the BOF Harvest Allocation Model and explain how harvests are modeled across Pennsylvania’s state forest system.
🎤 Paul Weiss, Chief Forester, Pennsylvania Game Commission
Paul has served in his current role since 2022 and brings extensive experience from both DCNR and the private sector. His presentation will explore how the Habitat Conservation Plan (HCP)—developed collaboratively with DCNR—supports continued forest management on State Game Lands while meeting conservation requirements, and what this model could mean for private forestry organizations.

PFPA successfully wrapped up our Annual Legislative Event and Day on the Hill this past week! We are grateful to the members, partners, and legislators who took time out of their busy schedules to participate. Their support and engagement were instrumental in making this event such a success.

We had outstanding attendance at Tuesday evening’s reception, followed by four groups traveling to the Capitol on Wednesday morning to meet with legislators and their staff. PFPA secured meetings with three of the four Appropriations Chairs, as well as other members of leadership. We look forward to building on the meaningful conversations that began during this impactful event.

Always great to catch up with PFPA members and State Reps at Farm Show each year! Thank you to PA State Rep. David Rowe for taking time to visit the hardwoods exhibit.

Stopped by the Woodmobile and met Levi from Alderfer Lumber in Snyder County and Mariah from the PA Forest Products Association! Pennsylvania is the number one wood product exporting state in the country and the industry creates thousands of jobs in our communities!
