A union should model the workplace standards it expects from employers.

But between January and June 2026, 75% of AFTPA Staff Representatives employed at the end of May 2025 chose to leave their jobs.

That level of turnover raises serious questions about workplace culture, staff treatment, and leadership accountability. Workers deserve better, everywhere.

28 years of dedication, loyalty, and passion for the Union movement.

The thanks? Six days without pay for missing a few arbitrary paperwork deadlines. Deadlines missed because he was drafting contract language for around 8 locals, bargaining with up to 3 groups per day, and representing roughly 25 locals for grievances, membership questions, and Union management support.

This is what it looks like when compliance is prioritized over members’ needs.
