ACTION ALERT!!!
Pennsylvania House members introduce bipartisan legislation to protect marriage equality in Pennsylvania!
While the Supreme Court ruled the LGBTQ+ people can marry and enjoy the benefits that marriage accrues ten years ago (Obergefell v. Hodges), this ruling is now under threat due to a new filing. If the Court does overturn the Obergefell ruling, Pennsylvania does not have a law on the books that allows people to marry someone of the same sex/gender. In fact, there is a law that expressly forbids it.
That is why we are asking you to contact your state legislator TODAY to support HB-1800. This bill that would uppdate Pennsylvania's legal code to repeal that provision and to protect the right of LGBTQ+ people to marry the person of their choosing while protecting their rights under the Federal Respect for Marriage Act.
