It Takes Two...

Thanks to all the sponsors, consignors, buyers, volunteers, and everyone who contributed to the fall sale.

You made the 2026 Eastern Fall Classic Stocker Auction a success!

A successful auction takes both sides, producers willing to consign quality animals and buyers willing to step up and support the sale. This year, you did exactly that.

On behalf of the Pennsylvania Deer Farmers Association, we sincerely thank each of you who consigned and purchased stocker bucks at this year's Eastern Fall Classic. Whether you joined us in State College or participated online, your involvement made the sale possible.

The Eastern Fall Classic is about creating an opportunity for deer farmers to do business with one another and providing a strong marketplace for Pennsylvania-produced stocker bucks. The continued support of our consignors and buyers is what allows us to keep building that marketplace.

To our consignors, thank you for trusting the PDFA to market and sell your animals. To our buyers, thank you for putting your confidence in the animals offered through our sale.

It truly takes two, and we greatly appreciate both sides of that partnership.

Thank you for making the 2026 Eastern Fall Classic Stocker Auction a success!

PDFA was on the forefront of this program, receiving funding each year for our members. While some projects outside of the private deer industry have been less than impactful, deer farmers are shifting the entire genomic make-up of their herds making them more and more resistant to CWD.

The Pennsylvania deer farming community recently lost a truly good man with the passing of Joe Peachey.

Joe served on the Board of the Pennsylvania Deer Farmers Association for several years, but more importantly, he was someone people genuinely enjoyed being around. He was one of the nicest men I’ve ever had the privilege to know in this industry.

I’ve known Joe for many years and was fortunate enough to help build his very first deer pens when he was getting started. Looking back now, that makes a lot of the memories we shared over the years even more meaningful.

One of the things I’ll always remember most about Joe was how much I enjoyed listening to his hunting stories. No matter where you ran into him — at a meeting, sale, event, or just talking deer — he always had a story to tell and a way of making people smile while telling it. He was humble, genuine, and the kind of person who made this industry better simply by being part of it.

Joe will be greatly missed by the entire Pennsylvania deer farming community, and especially by those of us fortunate enough to call him a friend. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and loved ones during this difficult time.
