🚨 URGENT: Barn or Garage Homes Needed by January 20 🚨

We are desperately seeking barn or garage homes for 4 semi‑friendly cats who are being fully vetted this Wednesday.
There are 13 cats total who must be moved by January 20 from a sold property. If we cannot place them, they will be left to fend for themselves—or worse, face euthanasia.

What We Need: If you have a barn, garage, heated tack room, or outbuilding, and can commit to daily food, fresh water, and safe shelter, please consider taking 1–2 of these cats.

What We Provide: Every cat will be spayed/neutered, fully vaccinated, microchipped, flea‑treated and dewormed. We will also assist with the acclimation process to ensure they settle safely and don’t run off.

Why This Is Urgent: These cats have nowhere else to go once the property changes hands. They are semi‑friendly, healthy, and simply need a safe place to live. If you can offer a barn home—or know someone who can—please contact us immediately. Thank you for helping us save them!

ADVOCATING FOR ABANDONED ANIMALS IN THE EASTERN PANHANDLE OF WV

12/31/2025

There are so many more stories of our 2025 successes and contributions, and I wish I had time to share them all! But I need to shut down my computer for the night and go ring in the new year with loved ones. But before I go, I wanted to say thank you to everyone. To our volunteers, rescuers, fosters, transporters, donors, partner organizations, and every member of the animal‑welfare community: YOU collectively are the reason lives were saved this year.

Your compassion, your time, your generosity, and your willingness to show up for animals and for each other made all the difference. Every rescue, every adoption, every second chance began with someone choosing to care. We are grateful for you and inspired by all of you! From all of us at To The ResQ to all of you, wishing you a peaceful, hopeful, and happy New Year. Here’s to saving even more lives together in 2026! Cheers!

Looking Back on 2025: Milly and Rose

Some stories take time to unfold, and some happy endings feel especially sweet. Milly and Rose’s journey is one we have carried in our hearts all year, and today we finally get to celebrate the ending they always deserved.

Milly and Rose were rescued together after surviving unthinkable hardship. Rose was critically ill, and Milly never left her side, keeping her warm, guarding her, and helping her heal. Their bond was deep from the very beginning, and it only grew stronger as they recovered in foster care. They were playful, clever, affectionate, and completely devoted to one another.

We always knew they needed to stay together. We also knew the right person would come along, even if it took time. And today, it finally happened.

Milly and Rose are being adopted together! Two sisters who survived so much now get to start the next chapter of their lives in a home where they will be safe, loved, and cherished for the rest of their days.

As we look back on 2025, their story reminds us that some rescues take patience, some bonds are unbreakable, and some happy endings are worth every moment of waiting. Here’s to Milly and Rose, and to the beautiful life ahead of them! And a HUGE thank you to their amazing and dedicated foster, Marcey Jastrab who is a ROCK STAR among fosters! We can't thank Marcey and her husband Scott enough for all that they contributed to the rescue of these two special girls!

Looking Back on 2025: The Fighters We Met Along the Way

As we look back on 2025, we are reminded of the tiny fighters who showed us what resilience truly looks like. Two of those unforgettable little souls were Salmon and Sweet Pea.

Salmon was found near Wi******er, injured and unable to walk. An elderly caretaker tried everything she could to find help, and when the call finally reached us, we rushed him to Augusta for care. He couldn’t move his back legs, needed help with every basic function, and his hips were positioned abnormally. But Salmon had a spark. With pain management, laser therapy, and the gentle attention of the veterinary team, he slowly began to move again. His medical foster, who cared for him every day, fell in love and adopted him. Today, Salmon is healed, walking, and living the safe and happy life he fought so hard for.

Sweet Pea came to us as a tiny stray with two broken legs and covered in ticks. One leg was beginning to heal, but the other needed a cast. She received treatment, testing, vaccines, and stabilization thanks to the generosity of our supporters. The Chris Griffey Memorial Feline Foundation stepped in to take over her medical care, and under their watch, Sweet Pea (now named Bones) ended up losing a leg but gaining a forever home! She is now in the loving home she deserved from the start.

These two kittens faced enormous challenges, yet both found safety, healing, and a future filled with love. Their stories remind us why we show up, why we fight for the ones who cannot fight for themselves, and how your compassion and generosity can change everything.

One Last Act of Kindness ✨

As 2025 comes to a close, we’re asking for one last act of kindness. Tonight, your donation becomes more than a gift, it becomes safety for a homeless dog or cat who’s scared, warmth for one who’s cold, medicine for one who’s hurting, and hope for the ones who have no one else.

Every year has its challenges, but it also has its moments of compassion that remind us why we keep going. If you’ve supported us before, thank you. If you’re able to give tonight, you’ll help us step into 2026 ready to rescue, heal, and protect even more lives. Let’s end this year with one last act of kindness!

Please consider making a last tax deductible donation in 2025 to support our mission.
Let’s start 2026 with the monetary resources we need to provide help for helpless animals in need.

If each of our followers and supporters would consider a $26 donation to begin 2026 to raise funds, we would be forever grateful.
Featured below: Kittens rescued from kill shelters and now adopted in loving homes. All of this was solely possible with your past donations. Sending each of you a heartfelt thank you for yoir support and wishing you a very happy New Year!
