Our Junior Chamber members were in our Commonwealth's Capitol Building on Thursday, February 16. This dynamic group of young leaders explored how State Government functions. Our trip was cut short because of the weather, but we were able to tour the Capitol, meet with Senator Stephen Meredith, and attend the Education Committee meeting.

Junior Chamber members met at the Breckinridge County Public Library today. This group of dynamic young adults is shaping the direction of future leadership in our area. We explored the idea of being an everyday leader, learned about leadership styles, and protected eggs (maybe a little too well) while building team skills with an egg drop activity.

The Breckinridge County Junior Chamber strives to offer educational opportunities to students in our community. Our goal is to make these students more aware of what Breckinridge County has to offer and train them to become leaders of tomorrow. We believe this program will assist in developing young people into better citizens and build relationships to support their growth as leaders. We hope to build a network between local business and civic leaders and our high school students to enhance the educational experience and complement academic classroom learning.

The Breckinridge County Junior Chamber embodies the ideas of partnership, leadership, and service. Students will use these three guiding principles to network and learn employability skills, see local businesses in action, and have the opportunity to serve and invest in their own community.
