This week’s Curb Appeal House of the Week goes to the home of Adam & Ashley Orscheln. The house is located at 2810 Pleasant Street, which sits on the corner of Country Club and Pleasant. Adam and Ashley both enjoy working in the yard and it definitely shows. The couple bought the house nine years ago, and in that time they have formed several rock gardens, planted numerous shrubs and trees, added black metal fencing, built a covered patio and removed a large garage to make space for a swing set for their four children. Thank you Adam & Ashley for providing such a beautiful yard for us to admire as we drive past.

We were just downtown and saw I believe a family with a side by side and grabbers and buckets picking up trash at the riverfront, we went back around to thank them but they were gone, but thank you from the CGHT, we appreciate it!! ❤️❤️❤️

The CGHT has gathered 9 bags of trash + misc over the last 2 days. areas covered were Warren Barrett, Pleasant, Country Club, Stardust, the river front, Crescent, Arch St, under the viaduct on Central Ave, and 30th st off of Warren Barrett. We are always amazed at how much we collect with how often we go. Full bottles of water, the little liquor bottles are out of control, we don’t understand. Please please don’t litter. Not pictured are Terry Martin, Sharon Campfield, and Colleen Fantz. Lynn Helbing took the photo. Honorable mentions go to Gina Hoover and Julie Fee Tischer, J’Nelle Lee-and Dena Ellis for picking up on their own time. I’m sure I’ve left somebody out.

Another great day of spending time with friends and cleaning up around town. We had 10 volunteers today and picked up a total of 10 bags of trash and our w**d warrior, Nora, pulled w**ds out of the rock hillside behind the old bowling alley. The morning crew picked up 7 bags on S. 6th & 7th, the parking lot behind the Rialto and Rookies, several blocks of Lyon and Church Streets and three different alleys. The afternoon crew picked up three more bags on Warren Barrett from S. Main to Lindell Ave. For Heaven’s Sake people, quit littering! Not pictured are Cindy Quinlin and Lynn Helbing.

The CGHT will be out picking up all around today, so if you see them, give them a honk of thanks !

This week’s Curb Appeal House of the week goes to the home of Reed and Debra Wheeler located at 501 Country Club. The couple moved to Hannibal in 1998 when Reed was offered a transfer with Dura from their Blytheville, Arkansas plant. He was given the option of transferring to Canada, Mexico or Hannibal and they both agree they have never regretted their decision to choose Hannibal. Debra said they originally lived on Lincoln Street and on her walks she would pass 501 Country Club and would think to herself she wanted to live there someday. Her wish became a realty in 2009. It’s a beautiful home with great curb appeal! The couple have three children with their son living in Hannibal, a daughter in Quincy and a second daughter in Byhalia, Mississippi.

We had a great time in the parade today, a lot of people turned out, I’m sure to see the big boys, they are beautiful 🐴! Ashley Obrien, Mason Busch, Lynn Helbing, Julie Tischer Fee, Colleen Fantz, and Perry Williams and myself represented CGHT.

It was pretty darn humid yesterday, but we persevered and picked up 9 bags of trash and numerous miscellaneous items. We hit Lindell Avenue from Warren Barrett down past the Humpty Dumpty bridge and several sections of Warren Barrett. As always, we treated ourselves with lunch afterwards and this time we chose Cassano’s.
