We’re asking you to help us bless a young mom in a BIG way. ❤️

This year, she has worked incredibly hard to build a new life for herself. She recently welcomed her first baby, and we’ve watched her grow, persevere, and make so much progress.

Now, we want to help her take another important step toward independence: reliable transportation. Our goal is to raise enough money to help her purchase a car so she can get her baby to appointments, get to work, and continue building the life she’s worked so hard for.

We believe God is still in the business of making a way where there seems to be no way. 🙏 So we’re asking you to pray with us and, if you’re able, help us make this possible.

✨ Fun Friday at Kairos Hope ✨

Today our residents had the opportunity to participate in a professional color analysis experience hosted by our amazing board member, Susan Liter with House of Colour.

A huge THANK YOU to Susan for generously sharing her time, expertise, and encouragement with our residents. What may seem like a simple activity was actually an opportunity for our women to grow in confidence, self-awareness, and self-worth.

One resident shared:

"I have always struggled with feeling confident in myself, especially when it comes to my outfits and what I wear. Learning how to feel confident in my appearance and clothing is something I have been wanting to work on. Through the color analysis process, I discovered which colors complement my skin tone and features best, and it was such an eye-opening experience. Today reminded me that sometimes stepping outside of our comfort zones can lead to growth, confidence, and a better understanding of ourselves."

We are so grateful for volunteers and community members who use their gifts to pour into the women we serve. Healing happens in many ways, and sometimes it starts with seeing yourself in a new light.

Thank you, Susan, for investing in our residents and helping them discover new confidence. 💜

What you tolerate, you’ll never change

Tolerance paralyses change. When we tolerate our negative attitudes, our lack of self- discipline, the mistreatment of others towards us, the destructive self-talk, we will slowly be corroded away from the inside out. Unless we are prepared to do what it takes to arise within ourselves and say, ‘No more!’ we will continue to live in a cycle of destruction.

Look at this man in John 5: 5-8:

‘One of the men lying there had been sick for 38 years. When Jesus saw him and knew he had been ill for a long time, he asked him, “Would you like to get well?”
“I can’t, sir,” the sick man said, “for I have no one to put me into the pool when the water bubbles up. Someone else always gets there ahead of me.”Jesus told him, “Stand up, pick up your mat, and walk!”’ (New Living Translation)

I find it interesting that Jesus asked this man if he wanted to be well. Why did He? I believe it’s because Jesus knew this man would need to be at the point of no longer wanting to tolerate his condition in order to be healed.

We can find excuses for our dysfunction and in doing so, create a space for it to exist. Then Jesus comes along and offers us hope. He asks us if we want to get well. Even when we reply with our reasons for not being well.

But Jesus knows the reasons you’re still sitting down waiting for your life to change; and yet He says the same thing to you and me that He said to that man 2000 years ago: ‘Stand up, pick up your mat, and walk!’

We are never meant to try and get up in our own strength; all we need to do is be obedient to His Word. The cripple didn’t say: ‘Heal me first and then I’ll walk.’ He simply believed and obeyed, and in his response to the Word of God, the miracle came.

If you feel you cannot rise up, that you simply have no strength of your own, that’s ok. Jesus will give you what you need. All you need to do is believe, respond, and decide in your heart that when Jesus says, ‘Stand up’, he will give you the ability to do so.

Our table just got a little bit longer, and our hearts a little bit fuller. 🧡

Today, we had the beautiful privilege of welcoming two new residents into the Kairos Hope family. Every time a new woman steps through our doors, it’s a reminder of the quiet, steady work of restoration that God is doing. These brave women are starting a journey toward long-term healing, and we couldn't be more honored to provide a safe place for them to land.

Would you join us in prayer as they begin this new chapter? We are asking for:
*Peace that passes understanding as they settle into their new home.
*Courage for the brave steps they are taking.
*A deep sense of belonging and safety from the very first moment.

Healing is a slow, rhythmic process, and tomorrow is just the first step of many. Thank you for being a part of this community that makes this work possible!

Kairos reSTORE Thrift has opened at 111 Main St. in Monroe City, across from Ben Franklin, offering a donation-based thrift shopping experience that supports the mission of Kairos Hope.

✨ Big News from Kairos Hope! ✨

This month, we are stepping into something we have been praying for; we are doubling our capacity and welcoming three additional residents into our program!

That means three more women who have experienced sexual trauma will have a safe place to heal, grow, and rediscover hope. Three more stories will be met with support, community, and the opportunity for a fresh start.

We are incredibly excited for these women and honored to walk alongside them in their healing journeys. At the same time, growth brings new needs. More residents means more groceries, household supplies, counseling support, transportation costs, and program resources.
