Featured Watershed Partner: Town of Liberty

We’re proud to highlight a dedicated UDR Network member committed to protecting the Upper Delaware River watershed.

The Town of Liberty is advancing critical infrastructure improvements, including upgrades to the Swan Lake Sewer Plant. In partnership with Delaware Engineering, the project will significantly improve water quality entering the Middle Mongaup River, while relocating key components out of the floodplain to reduce contamination risks during major flood events.

Looking ahead, the Town is also updating its Comprehensive Plan with a strong focus on watershed protection-addressing runoff, water quality, and development impacts across tributaries that feed into the Delaware.

These efforts play an important role in safeguarding the health of the river system for the future.

Featured Watershed Partner: Upper Delaware Council

We are proud to feature the Upper Delaware Council, a one of our partners dedicated to protecting and managing the Upper Delaware Scenic and Recreational River.

The UDC was set up by Congress in 1988 to help manage the 73-mile Upper Delaware Scenic and Recreational River. It brings together federal, state, and local governments to protect the river, support local communities, and guide land and water use. Each year, it helps oversee the river area for over 250,000 visitors and the people who live there.
