Need free PreK for your child?

There are still preschool openings in the Great Start Readiness Program (GSRP). Children who turn 4 before December 1st are eligible for this free state funded preschool program that is ranked #1 in the U.S.! GSRP will help make sure your child is ready for kindergarten and beyond.

We’re looking to be more social!

So our next CCRC Planning Meeting will be held at Gino’s on Tuesday, November 7th at 6:30 PM!

If you’ve been curious about the Copper Country Reading Council and how you can be involved in promoting literacy throughout the Keweenaw, this gathering is for you!

We’ll introduce ourselves and discuss current plans, as well as get feedback from you. If you are new to the area or just looking to meet likeminded people, CCRC is a great way to connect with others.

Please note that while we sponsor the appetizers for our Bring Your Own Book events, this gathering will be pay your own way.

We talked to many of you at the Farmers Markets we attended & many of you said you were excited to attend the next Bring Your Own Book!

Well, it’s happening soon!

Join us at 7 PM on Tuesday, 9/12 at The Library in Houghton.

Just show up! It’s that easy! Appetizers will be free. You just need to be a member, which is $10/year. You can sign up when we see you at The Library!

Visit us at the Hancock Tori & Farmers Market from 3-6 PM today!

We have books for sale, you can sign up for a yearly $10 membership, and teachers can sign up for a book study to earn SCECH credits (which includes a free book! - but hurry, we only have 8 spots left!).

We are still looking for donations of gently used books for our upcoming Farmers Market Book Sales in August.

Our book sales are the primary source of funds we use to sponsor events throughout the year.
