My Teen Leadership classes donated items and each made a gallon ziplock bag full of hygiene essentials and few other extra items in the hope to give someone who is living life on the streets the chance to a new beginning. We have learned this semester that first impressions are important, and if someone was given the chance to clean up to present themself in a manner for a possible job it could give them hope. All 60 students will have the chance to give a little hope.
It also allows us to learn how to give to those less fortunate without feeling like all we should give is money. Bags include: toothpaste, deodorant, shampoo, conditioner, floss, toothbrush, comb, a pair of socks, a small water, a snack, mouth wash, hand sanitizer, wet wipes, and chapstick. Place in your car and when the opportunity arises you have this wonderful bag to hand out. Encouraged to add a beanie hat, gloves, and a few gift cards to various food places.
