‼️Transparency Update ‼️

Hey everyone! I’m a little late with this update because between Ink and some health issues, I’ve been distracted. 😅

Since my last transparency post, we had another round of merch sales which resulted in $82 in donations. Thank you to everyone who purchased! We also received an offline donation of $15.

In preparation for Ink, we purchased 5200 RYRC wristbands totaling $570.05.

The new balance in the account is $76.09.

We still have Michigan Metal Fest and Louder Than Life this year, so keep those donations coming! 🎀

* The GoFundMe is a running balance that’s been cumulative over the last couple of years. The actual current balance is in the account in the screenshot below.

‼️ Attention Ink Volunteers‼️

The ChargerGoGo booth will be stocked with RYRC wristbands for distribution. You can find it in Zone 6 next to the water refill stations. A huge thank you to Jeremy for his continued support. 🎀

A couple of quick notes:

👉🏻 The goal of RYRC is to remind people about the importance of doing breast self exams regularly (it’s not about breast cancer awareness). The best way to spread the message is to verbally tell them what it’s about. That’s not always possible but it really does drive it home

👉🏻 If you can, please take pics and short videos of the people you give them to (not every time obviously but a few would be great.) I always put together a montage after to showcase how many people we reach.

👉🏻 Please do not take more wristbands than you can distribute. I collect donations through a GoFundMe and it’s important that all wristbands are distributed. I don’t want anyone’s money to go to waste.

👉🏻 If anyone asks about the movement, they can follow us on FB and IG, which will also have a link to the GoFundMe if they want to contribute.

Let me know if you have any questions and thank you so much for all of your help! 🫶

It’s okay to not know what to say, but reaching out with something as simple as “Hey, I just want you to know that I’m thinking of you” can mean a lot. 🎀

Can I tell you something I think a lot of people carry around?

Most people do not regret reaching out to someone with cancer. They regret not doing it.

They regret the text they never sent because they didn’t know what to say. They regret the phone call they kept putting off because life got busy. They regret assuming someone else was checking in. They regret thinking, “I’ll reach out next week,” only to realize weeks turned into months.

The truth is, when someone is diagnosed with cancer, the people around them are often afraid of saying the wrong thing. But from the cancer side of it, there usually is no perfect thing to say.

A simple “How are you doing today?” works. A funny meme works. A heart emoji works. A quick “I’ve been thinking about you” works.

You do not have to fix anything. You do not have to make it better. You do not need some profound wisdom that suddenly makes cancer disappear. You just have to show up.

Cancer can be incredibly isolating, and not just because of treatments, appointments, or exhaustion. Life keeps moving forward for everyone else while yours feels like it got flipped upside down. Days become measured by scans, blood work, treatment schedules, and waiting for results. It can feel like you’re living in a completely different world than everyone around you.

The people I remember most are not the ones who had the perfect words. They’re the ones who stayed.

The ones who kept texting after the diagnosis announcement was old news. The ones who asked about scans. The ones who remembered treatment days. The ones who treated me like Jess, not just a cancer patient.

If someone crossed your mind while reading this, maybe that’s your sign to send the text. It might mean more than you’ll ever know.

For those living with cancer, what’s something a friend did for you that you’ll never forget?

‼️Transparency Update ‼️

I’m a little late but Rock Your Rack Check received a generous $25 donation a couple of weeks ago bringing the current account balance to $208.89.

Next up is Inkcarceration Festival! This will be my youngest daughter’s first festival and she’s excited to help spread the message. 🥰🎀
