There’s a phrase Christians repeat a lot that sounds comforting, but it’s not actually true:
“God won’t give you more than you can handle.”
If that were true, a lot of the things God calls people to would never even get started. Sometimes He gives the opportunity, the vision, and just enough resources to begin… but He intentionally leaves gaps. Not because He forgot something, but because the work was never meant to be carried by one person.
And sometimes the provision isn’t money or a miracle that drops out of the sky.
Sometimes the provision is people.
I’ve seen that firsthand with One a Chord Studios.
In the early days, the needs were pretty straightforward. We needed musicians. We needed people who could swing a hammer, do carpentry, build things, move gear, and help turn an empty space into something usable. And a lot of people stepped up in those ways.
But as something grows, the needs evolve.
Right now, the challenge isn’t finding people who care. We have a lot of willing people. The challenge is having the discernment to recognize what the next phase actually requires.
And right now, we need more creatives.
People who can help produce content.
People who can edit.
People who can help bring ideas to life that I never would have thought of myself.
People who can be in places I physically can’t be and capture something meaningful happening in their own community.
Maybe you’re a musician who’s offered to help before. That’s still incredibly valuable. But maybe there’s also a lane you’ve never considered trying.
Maybe it looks like learning to help edit something.
Maybe it’s filming something simple on location where you live.
Maybe it’s even just being willing to jump in front of a camera and do something a little goofy or creative to help make a lesson or idea come alive.
And maybe you’re not that person… but you know someone who is. Someone who’s always coming up with creative ideas, always tinkering with video, always editing something just because they enjoy it.
And if you’ve offered to help before, please know this: I definitely haven’t forgotten. I’d genuinely love to follow up and talk with you about what we specifically need as we move into this next phase.
Sometimes the way God grows something isn’t by giving one person the strength to carry everything.
Sometimes He grows it by bringing the right people into the work at the right time.
